  1. If there is such a market for “progressive talk” out there, then why do the donks have to subsidize Fruit Loop Franken and company over at Hot Air America, or whatever it is?  Could it be because potential advertisers know better, and stay away?

  2. Damn right tannenburg.  I have been buyin 60 second spots in Rush for a long time.  In Detroit they are $400 a minute.  I wouldn’t pay $5 to be on Air America.  If I did I would be advertising to low life strapped Democrats like OCM and I would go broke.

Detroit is ABC, WJR, but I’ve paid way too much to Clear Channel stations, like in Tampa.  I will admit my favorite radio salesperson is from Clear Channel, on WHO, named Pauline.

I have advertised tax-free HSAs (MSA) since the beginning, 1997, on Rush and he has refused to discuss Republican Health Care Agenda (The HSA) even during presidential elections, the retard.  Pauline and I laugh at him and say that the HSA is in the side of his brain that he has strapped behind his back, just to make things fair.

I have learned not to say anything negative about Rush to the people that respond from his show.  It just takes longer to take their money if you have to say, “I’m sorry.” rolleyes

  3. In the inspiring words of the immortal Mao Tse-Tung, “Let a hundred flowers bloom!” I don’t know if he said that before or after he starved & murdered another couple of million people who pissed him off ..

  4. Probably after, Oink.  The flowers needed fertilizer, after all.... cool smirk

  5. Rush said, “The 401K was named after some congressman but I can’t remember his name.”

  6. About six months ago, Clear Channel announced that they would be reducing the amount of advertising we have to endure, starting in January...have you seen any change? I haven’t.

  7. There’s alot of ads on the CC talk shows no doubt, but the biggest chunks are the top and bottom of the hour breaks. Rush (and most talk hosts) goes for at least 15 minutes straight at the beginning of the hour, and Beck goes the “full” half hour with only one sponsor, so it’s not too bad. I find talk radio has fewer commercials than TV; witness the irritating deluge of ads during O’Reilly for example.

I’d like to know just exactly how much time is spent with the actual show vs. the commercial time though. I alwasy thought talk radio shows just simply went by quickly, but maybe it’s all the ad time and I’m just not noticing it.

  8. Oh, and CC screwed Bubba last year. They claimed that it was about decency, but if they would have had to guts to admit it, it was for nothing more than fear of FCC fines. If CC was so concerned about Bubba, he wouldn’t have been on CC for 8 years and certainly wouldn’t have been syndicated. Why they didn’t come clean with the real reason is beyond me.

    Clear Channel pisses me off.
