1. Lady, sorry your husband pulled a Darwin, but the shell wasn’t defective. It went BOOM just like it was designed to do. Don’t try shifting the blame onto West Point 145 years later.

   A 9” cannonball only comes from one kind of cannon - a Dahlgren. They were very common on ships and in forts.

   And a waterproofed shell with a percussion detonator on it can last for centuries and still go off if you drop it on the button. Bad info there too.
