  2. I do support his action when it’s you personally who are the target of the lawbreaker. And it’s good publicity. But I share the ACLU’s concern.  Maybe this particular group is OK, but it tends to attract the ‘shoot first’ gang eventually. The Marines screwed up this assignment, accidentally shooting a 17 y/o shepherd boy.

  3. Oink, I too am leery of vigilante justice cropping up, but:

The Fed and state governments refuse to enforce the law regarding illegal immigration.

Members of Congress sworn to uphold the law have interceded on behalf of lawbreakers and the people who hire them.

This isn’t the first time citizens watched and reported; we had coastwatchers in WW2.

After twenty years of amnesty and so-called reform, it’s time for the militia to at least make the point that enough is enough.

  4. My fear is that, like most things, it’ll start well and then spiral out of control.  With publicity, the crazies will arrive (some of them protesters) someone will inevitably get shot, then its all over the media, then ... fill in the blanks. Border control will get a black eye.

The border is impossible to seal.  Give the border our reasonably best shot—with instant deportation. Then start the same instant deportation with illegals already inside the country.

  6. it comes down to your government at the end of the day, look at this prime example, this guy was convicted for two rapes in Latvia or wot ever shit hole he came from, comes to the UK then rapes and murders a young girl, why didn’t my government check this fucker out? am i suppose to stand at Dover looking for ass holes, and what does a rapist come murderer look like? he should not have been aloud into this country, given his passed record, that must be logged somewhere, its down to the pen pushers. angry

  8. Oink, I share your concerns as well, however, I disagree that the border cannot be sealed.  Also, “instant deportaion” sounds good, but I submit that is almost impossible.  How do you find them?  I heard an analogy the other day stating that if all the illegals were rounded-up they would fill school buses, nose-to-tail, stretching from San Diego to Alaska.

How about this:  build the fence/wall, just like the Israelis did.  That stops the bleeding.  Then, for the ones who are already in the US, you get them as you catch them....during traffic stops, etc.  No amnesty, no quarter.  Forget the media, and forget the ACLUnatics.  It’s time to get the country back, publicity be damned!

  9. “instant deportaion”

  10. My argument against sealing the border is related to “Marginal Utility” in economics.  How can we best spend that next dollar for maximum effect?  We can make to border reasonably secure without constructing a thousand-mile Berlin Wall—which people will eventually find a way around. Use that extra money to monitor employers and return illegals that are found.

  11. This just in from my wife. Seems that a lady she works with from south of the border somewhere, legal status unknown, got word that her mother back in the “homeland” had taken ill. Woman takes a few days off, travels back to said homeland, gathers up sick mother and flies her back across the border. Checks her into the local hospital as an indigent, and gets all the free health care she needs!
No BS ... True story… Guess who gets to pay her hospital bill?!
    Who do I tell?
