  2. *heh* That’s a pretty cool reader distribution.  North Korea I can understand for not having checked in.  Does anyone (other than a select few close to Kim Jong Il) have internet over there?  (Hell, the same could be asked about electricity I suppose.)

  3. I am sorry but I do not buy into that OneGlowBallWorld Order peace, love and kumbyah crap in the least - but it is neat that there are people all over the World who come to visit here.

AGT - electricity and oil are the commodities that allow even the least of a country to be able to advance and live in relative (look at OBLs ‘mansion’ - even from the ‘home videos’ looks a little less than even my little piece of hell on earth) civilized conditions - but more importantly to be able to expand one’s knowledge, grasp on the World as it was and as it is and to assist in making oneself better - which is why keeping people alive but in the greatest ignorance and abject poverty is the aim or every politician, dictator, tyrant and despot since humans started congregating into groups.

With whiz bang cell phones available in even the poorest of places now - Pandora’s box is open and I’m not so sure that this disenfranchisement of humans will have a harder time to keep on - knowledge is power and if you can reach out and touch someone - you will get more information than your ‘keepers’ ever expected you to get and with that comes FREEDOM.

Or the evil ones of the World will enact The PLAN and make sure we are tracked, monitored and fed the most lame and mind numbing crappola possible - and of course that when we really, truly need our cell phones/tv/internet - they won’t work.

Who thinks that allowing Uncle Obama to track us via car, our medical records, the IRS and/or phone will ever turn out good. Or does not violate the Constitution. Or will end up costing us zillions in tax dollars (to insure even the least (i.e. illegal alien) gets a cell phone (it’s a right - you know, buried somewhere in that stupid Constitution.

  4. I was stationed on Guam from ‘74-’76.  The site I worked at (lat 13.5935 lon 144.8527)is now abandoned because everything we did there is now done by satelites.
Goofy rememberance - Cable TV was actually recorded LA TV that was re-played 1 week later, not including time zone change.  So we got to see the Super Bowl, World Series, broadcast shows etc, 1 week late.  Fights would break out if someone mentioned any sports scores before the “broadcast date”.  It took me years after we left not to have the feeling that I should “know” the score of a game while I watched it.
Good times, even Super Typhoon Pamela.

  5. Well I for one was surprised. Didn’t some Exalted Superior Type in government tell us last year that Guam was going to capsize due to Global Warming? No, wait, it was because of overpopulation, due to enlarging a military base. Yeah, that’s it. Because Guam isn’t really an island, it’s a giant sea turtle taking a nap, and all those marching boots would wake it up. So I’m really glad that hasn’t come to pass. Yet!!!!!
