DeBeers and the other big diamond companies are seriously worried about how manufactured diamonds are going to devalue the rocks that they mine out of the ground. The manufactured versions are 100% diamond and right now there’s no test that can truly tell the difference, except that the manufactured versions are so perfect that the perfection gives a hint.

Look for ad campaigns trying to convince people that mined diamonds are more “real” and valuable.
Me? They’re clear rocks. Big deal. If my wife wants precious stones, it’s emeralds as green is one of her favorite colors.
