  1. This sounds like Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia, where children who denounced their parents (or anyone else) for disloyalty (or anything else) were lionized as heroes, model citizens, et seq ad nauseum.  This is nothing short of outrageous!

What in the name of all devils will it take to awaken our folk?

    Grrrr!!!

    cussing

  2. ZaNulabour have used Orwell’s 1984 as a template for their new society. How else do you explain the way they have allowed millions of uneducated immigrants to flood in? They have installed video cameras on every street. They are now hiring the ad agency Satchi to sell the ID cards idea. These ID cards will require fingerprints and retina scans. If you don’t get one you will be fined and unable to leave the country as they won’t give you a passport.

I think it is truly frightening. One thing I read recently was a nightmare scenario in which Gordon Clown decides not to hold an election since he knows zaNulabour will be thrashed. Instead he calls a state of emergency. They recently rammed through detention of 42 days without trial using the pretext of terrorism. Now I despise islamic terrorists as much, probably more than the next guy. However it doesn’t just apply to islamic fanatics. They could conceivably use these powers to take power indefinitely. The populace by and large is unarmed and the army is in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Tannenberg you are right it is outrageous but where is the outrage? Oh and good to have you back btw. You and Dr. Jeff have been missed!

  3. Damnit LyndonB, you referenced exactly what I was thinking. 1984.

They could conceivably use these powers to take power indefinitely. The populace by and large is unarmed and the army is in Afghanistan and Iraq.

But only until they come home.

  4. Thanks, LyndonB, it’s good to be back.  Hope you guys have been keeping things lively while I was away.

I understand your problem with millions of uneducated immigrants.  We have the same problem over here, the devil knows!  But tell me this:  Are there any better potential leftists anywhere in the world?--if they’re not already beyond potential?  Is there a likelier herd of sheep to be ushered to the polls?

“Four legs good, two legs bad!”

    “Labour/Democrats good, Tories/Republicans bad!”

    tune

“We poor little lambs have lost our way,
    Baaah!--baaah!--baaah!”

    (With apologies to Whiffenpoofers everywhere)

    LOL

  7. So what would happen if, per chance, the UK electorate voted NuLabour out and the Conservatives back in?

  8. Be glad the army is in Afghanistan and Iraq. It means they can’t be sent against you.

“Covert human intelligence sources”.... says it all, that does.

  9. Peiper I think we both know it won’t make much difference if Cameron is the next Prime Minister. The Conservatives were bamboozled by Tony Bliar and they are obsessed with not being seen as “the nasty party” so anything like cutting down immigration or telling Europe to get stuffed will not be mentioned. Actually an American sums it up better that I can.

I think this is a superb article and she really gets to the heart of the matter. Britain much more than America is run by people who believe themselves to be superior to the man in the street. The electorate is not to be trusted.

  10. It sounds like the ancien regime on the brink!

Lyndon, the conceit you speak of is the surest sign that it is doomed.  That conceit indicates vanity that will blind the PC meisters to the consequences of their actions--that is, until their smug little know-it-all world collapses about their ears.

What happens after that is another story altogether, but at least that much is assured, sooner or later.  And I for one think that the sands are running fast.

    hmmm
