It’s about this time when you start asking questions like that, that I “accidentally” have a stress attack, kaniption fit, whatever, that spills the beer all over the board and knocks all the pieces on the floor. Sorry brother, no chess player here.
Well… I play, but I’m not very good. And I have no idea who was playing or what happened next.
Personally, I would probably do F-8 to F-5. I suspect that sounds insane, but it at least has the benefit of threatening his queen.

Knight to F3. Check.
1. Send the horsey to F3.
2. Humphrey Bogart and Judy Garland, back in 1956.
3. Bogie and Judy both took another swig of gin and passed out.
Comrades,
Knight to F3 only loses the knight to a pawn. I’d consider black pawn H7 to H6. White would probably move his queen G5 to G4. After that, Black uses his queen to take the rook on C5.... I’d think further, but I need sleep…

Knight to E-2. Check
(W)King to H-1
Rook to H-2 Mate.
Queen to Queen’s Level Three…
I’ve played chess since I was a kid.But I never could figure out all this K-j2 bn34 pwa1 qwa9?????????? Otherwise I might give you a game.Used to be fun in the Army when I would checkmate a guy in ? moves. The last thing they would say was"I didn’t think you would do that”.Rookies.
P.S. there is no such thing as threatend.Only timid players, always ATTACK.
I’ve posted the answers at Something’s Rotten. Come and visit.
Man… I saw the way to put the king in check but I never thought of that as the SECOND move. I thought of that as a first move (that I rejected) just to annoy the opponent.
Interesting.

1. ...Q-KKt6! The mate threat at KR7 is compelling.
2. QxQ, Kt-K7+,
3. K-R1, KtxQ+, (if BPxKt, RxR is mate),
4. K-Kt1, Kt-K7+ and the threatened rook escapes.
2. BPxQ, Kt-K7+,
3. K-R1, RxR mate.
2. RPxQ, Kt-K7 mate.
Any other move by White loses to QxQ or QxRP mate.
(I think this was Lewitzky-Marshall, but I’m not sure.)
There’s nothing like a chess puzzle first thing in the AM.
1...Qg3 (threatens mate on h2) 2. Qxg3 Ne2+ (forking K & Q) 3. Kh1 Nxg3+ 4. Kg1 Nxf1
(if 4. fxg3 Rxf1#)
I think I’ve seen this position somewhere in one of my puzzle books.
1.....Q-g3
2Q-e5..then what?
never mind, he just escapes.
To answer commandero Black doesn’t escape, he mates.
1… Qg3
2. Qe5 Nf3+
3. Kh1 Rxh2 mate.
Right you are. Missed it
