1. Care in the community not working so well after all eh? [sarc]I’m shocked[/sarc]. Mind you it is worth pointing out that much of the “care in the community” started under Maggie T as a cost cutting exercise. They dressed it up as a more humane way to deal with mentally ill people compared to asylums, but the bottom line was always about saving cash.

   I know this will sound like I am persecuting one particular group, but it does seem to me somewhat significant that the majority of these cases affect one ethnic group in particular. It would be interesting to have the statistics to compare murder incidents involving mentally ill black people with the relative population. I suppose the apologists would point to the “institutionally racist” media and police for the seemingly large proportion of such crimes being perpetrated by black people. Maybe there is no link and I am just biased but I would like ot have my preconceptions challenged by accurate data.

   This creature really is of no further use to society and in any civilised country would have been put down after the first murder.

   I’m actually going to have to disagree with this.

   Personally, I think we should keep the sickest folk - like this one - around, to serve as executioners.

   Nihilist types aren’t phased by lethal injection - since “assisted suicide” is banned, they try “suicide by cop” or “… by lethal injection.”

   Instead, we should use people like this as executioners.  Just put the lesser miscreant in the cell with this one, lock the door, turn away and let nature take its course.

   Want a deterrent?

   That WOULD work…
