  1. The road to a totalitarian society - when a guy defending his neighborhood & possibly his life is charged with second degree murder and a guy attempting to capture his & his neighbor’s home from a burglar go to jail while the criminal(s) get a pass - bet our burglar (drugs in possession is the clue) has a record (thus out running around because there is no real time done by real criminals. The real time is being done by all the hard working and law abiding - attempting to stay alive and survive against the liberals attempt to create total chaos in society.

  2. “I didn’t think I could handle this guy physically, so I fired into the ground,” Fleming told FoxNews.com. “He stopped. He knew I was serious. I was angry … and I was worried that this guy was going to come after me.”

Just goes to show, if you draw and fire, shoot to kill.

  3. It appears our gov’t will pass any law necessary to make criminals out of decent law abiding citizens.  The police do NOT have to arrest every single time a law is not adhered to.  It’s called discretion.  We have to look at the intent of the law, not the letter of it.  I am sure that the drafters of this law meant to keep people from shooting guns off or into the air needlessly, thus endangering others.  This man did what he had to in order to protect himself and keep a criminal from escaping.  In the old days, the police would say thank you to the man for his involvement in helping put criminal in jail.  It’s stuff like this that keeps good people from taking action in making our world a safer place.

What should this guy have done.  Shot and killed the man, then place a kitchen knife in his hand after cutting himself and giving himself a few bruises in order to justify his actions?  This is why the castle doctrine and other similar laws were put in place, so honest people didn’t have to worry about going to prison because they chose to protect themselves instead of being a victim or a statistic.

Well, it looks like despite everything, we may have to go back to these stupid tactics.  Better to kill a bad buy then face a series of accusations or wrongdoing.  Dead man tell no tales.

Let’s hope that one day, the police chief who had him arrested finds himself the victim of a violent mugging and our hero sees it happen, but instead, chooses to look the other way, rather than get involved and risk another stupid criminal charge.

Sometimes, I have to really wonder what our world has come to.  Criminals have more rights than their victims and anyone who tries to stop a crime from happening or tries to protect themselves, ends up in prison while the bad guy gets off on a technicality, files a civil lawsuit for violation of his right, gets lots of money and ends up living in his victim’s home while the victim is serving time in prison.  It just doesn’t make any sense anymore.  Our founding fathers must be spinning in their graves.

  4. 1) Shoulda shot the guy DEAD.

    2) Made NO call to police.

    3) Gone home, clean weapon, pop a brewski, go to bed.

    4) Read story in morning’s paper and muttered: “Damn, this neighborhood’s goin to Hell”!

  5. Can hardly believe this. I knew we had idiots at home like everywhere else but this takes a prize.  New Hampshire ya say.  Must be here in the UK cos surely Americans wouldn’t sink to quite that level. And as for founding fathers spinning in graves. Heck no. They’re more likely trying to get up and out and rekindle our lost revolution.

  6. Meanwhile, in Cleveland OH - land of liberals (think Senator Sherrod Brown - now the most liberal Senator since The Won left) - had a mass shooting (um, gee in such a gun control area, just HOW did that happen) - at a Cracker Barrel after his wife told him she wanted a divorce - more than our shooter and wife are dead. [Darwin at work - as you go out in public to discuss something so personal, in a way she deserved it, unless she expected him to go off and thought being in public would defuse it].

Liberal laws intending to protect and defend the criminal - should be abolished. It does nothing except ensnare the law abiding.

Yeah sdkar - a Police Chief once told my Dad, if you shoot someone on your property - make sure he’s over the front door threshold first.

  7. Wardmom ... she deserved it? Why? How about the little girl? Dead at ten and another daughter wounded just cos she wanted a divorce?
I just can not grasp what would possess a man to kill his own children just because the wife wants to leave. And we read about that kind of thing too often. It’s happened here as well.
But I don’t think she deserved to be killed. Maybe a meeting in a public place felt safe. Seems logical enough.
