    http://cubachi.com/2010/12/07/unreal-bristol-palins-appearance-on-dwts-led-to-fcc-complaints-of-tea-party-conspiracy/
These people REALLY need to get a life outside of television.

  2. I could post a bunch of Fart jokes if you think Peiper would warm up reading them, assuming his PC is Not a popcycle. Or stupid stuff like this:

Jimmy Carter on PBS Newshour told the moderator and the audience that he has never seen a more “completely irresponsible” congressional republicans than this current crop.

He whines that they never compromise with Obama nor take his side on issues that matter to democrats.

    DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    Your Welcome

  4. Hey Drew ... Plastic wrap for windows. Sorry I didn’t answer on that. Thinking other thoughts I guess.  Not certain about it due only to current condition of iron casements.
I once sent you a closeup photo as an example. Bad shape. Can ask local do it yrself store.
Not too easy getting out as I don’t drive.
We have heat of a sort meaning storage and electric floor heaters and so cope well enough.
Plenty of hot tea and choc.etc.
FYI ... The gweens here are past goreball wrming. The new mantra is climate change and they’re just as vocal as ever they were. One person (claims to represent a green group here) took upon himself to patrol the streets in Winchester and make note of all the store who have their doors open in cold weather, thus wasting energy and creating a larger footprint. He then writes to the local weekly amateur newspaper naming and he thinks shameing the stores guilty of this gross negligence.  His type once hunted witches in another age. Quite enthusiastic is our little Himmler of Sherwood Forest.

Last year someone determined that our section had the largest carbon footprint in the country. Wow, and we really are a small area. So the greens decided to save not just ze verld, but Winchester’s reputation at the same time. SO the gween gwupe has been on a cwusade ever since. And quite pweachy they are.

  5. Peiper, I had rusty crittal windows once, I can tell you a good fix in the spring but as you suspect the film needs something to stick to, is there a wooden outer frame that will take the tape? if not, and this could be smelly, get a spray of etch primer (a company called Upol make it among others), a local motor factors will have it, if you like I can find some tel Nos for you, rub down the rust and give it a hit with the etch, dont get it heavy, then dry with hot air gun/hair dryer then the tape will stick, also warm the tape to help it. I found the whole house got warm back when I did it (Molesey Surrey 1978-9)

  6. I was thinking more of attaching the plastic to the house walls around the inside of the window. It’s not hard to build a frame of light boards around them if needed, then tape the shrink plastic to that.

The stuff works, as long as you’re not asking it to catch more air than a sail.

For casement windows, you could just cut some 5-mil or 8-mil plastic drop cloths to fit, open the window, slide the plastic in behind them and then close and lock the window. That will stop 95% of the breeze (from bad glazing and warped frames) right there at the window frame. Then you do the shrinky stuff on a built up frame.

Come spring it will be reglazing, scraping, rust stopping, and repainting time. This is a huge pain in the ass; it’s hardly even worth it to hire someone, as the labor bill will cost nearly as much as getting new windows installed.

  7. For rusty steel, or rotting wood POR15 is magic, you can get it by mail in UK from Frost restoration, it will make soft rotting wood hard as old oak, it soaks in to rust and goes very hard but flexes, odd paint, needs damp to cure, cures well in England lol.

  8. The Midwest USA summer was pretty hot.  How was it in England?
We keep hearing, accurately, that weather is not climate.  Mainly we hear it when it’s hot.
