  1. This will be fun.  The Brits had a lot of experience in Palestine up until 1948.  Then the French had Algeria.  I wonder how much the Germans remember from WWII?  The big question is do any of them still have the huevos to handle the Palis or did they leave them back at the U.N.?

I still like the Jordanian solution.  In the long run, it probably offers the least bloodshed.

  2. When HamAss keeps shooting after Israel stops, it will be clear. Then Israel can go back to its clean-up with the worlds blessing. I hope.

  3. Im amazed that the egyptian spokesman had the chutspa to claim the tunnels were used primarily for FOOD. Since when is or has food been labeled contraband that has to be smuggled into anywhere? Well, Maybe North Korea but still!!!

  4. After the British Navy’s performance with the Iranians a couple of years ago . . . I’m not too sure that this is a good thing.

I find the fact that Israel entertained a cease-fire at all (at this point) rather disheartening.  Already Hamas is spinning this as a victory, and is saying they’ll use the cease-fire to re-arm.  Cease-fires are only asked for by Muslims when they’re losing a fight, and it’s precisely so they can re-arm and come at you harder next time.  Therefore, cease-fires are full of FAIL unless they benefit you in the same way, at the exact same time (Ie, you really need to stop right then or you’ll lose.)

Israel should have kept pushing and destroying Hamas until the only statement heard from them after the fight was silence.  No brave statements about coming back, re-arming, how they won the holy-war, or even how valiant a fight they put up.  Nothing.  Crickets.

Then… maybe… they won’t ever come back because they’re all DEAD.

  6. I interpret the (Israeli) cease fire as “We have hit everything and everyone on our target list and we will need some time to do bomb damage assessment and work up a new target list.  Might as well score some points by declaring a cease fire.”
A cease-fire is not a peace treaty and it is not a surrender.  It is a TEMPORARY cessation of hostilities.
