Britain endured its coldest start to winter in 30 years.  Anyone seen Al Bore around here?

  1. WHOOPS ... IN THE INTEREST OF BEING FAIR ABOUT THIS SUBJECT:

    Climate scientists say 2008 will be the coldest year globally this decade.

    But they also point out it remains the tenth warmest year on record and that rising temperatures are the long-term trend. They predict a levelling of temperatures for the next six years, then a rise again in the middle of the next decade.

    ‘Although 2008 has been cooler than recent years, it is still the tenth warmest year since 1850,’ said Nick Grahame, chief forecaster at the Met Office.

    ‘This is entirely within the expected variation in temperatures - and does not mean that global warming has stopped or been put on hold.’

    In the shorter term, more wintry showers are expected next week, he said.

  2. Feet still a bit chilly tho.

    Wool socks.  Merino if you can find ‘em.  Trust me,
    cotton doesn’t cut it…
