I wonder how many American readers know what country Sofia is in, or can even find that country on a map without help from Google. Or think that this is where the Hagia Sophia is located? And the country itself? Um, that’s where that yucky kind of grain comes from, right? :-0
On the other hand, to us the only thing that place is even slightly famous for is for losing to the muzzie horde way back when in 1385. Actually, Sofia is so used to being overrun that even the Poles did it.
