He was a corrupt old congresscritter but I wont speak ill of the guy. I would have rather watched him suffer at the hands of the voters that the scythe of the reaper.

Roughly 15-20 inches of snow on the ground and they’re calling for MORE tomorrow.
Kids had snow days Fri, Mon, and have one tomorrow. At this point I don’t know WHEN they’re going back to school.
Oh and our oldest son turned 13 last month. Yikes.As far as Murtha, eh I didn’t care for a lot of stuff the guy did, but I do feel bad for his family. Gallbladder surgery is for the most part routine (Mom had to have hers removed when I was in HS) and for the family to lose him so suddenly has to be a real shock.

As a former constituent of this great man I can say this.. GOOD FUCKING RIDDANCE! Next, one of his teat-suckling offspring will probably be appointed to the seat next.

I posted condolences on another website I visit - after my hubby admonished me for my glee at the news.
Having been a military wife for 29 years - I take great offense at a Congressperson who votes for a military action and then proceeds to take it apart, defund it and more than others personally attack the men (Marines at that) during that war. He probably (I can’t find the record) voted for the BRAC list in 2005 that put Walter Reed on a ‘to close’ path and then went after the Bush Administration for the conditions at an out building that only came into use due to the increased use of WR - political expediency on the backs of those he ‘claimed’ to champion - but worse during the War he voted for.
His pork is legendary and thus he is part of the problem as to why America is in such debt and our economy is going down the drain.
Thus he is close to - but I am sorry Ted Kennedy was a murderer to me - so he reigns as the King of what is wrong with Democrat politicians - and to me - the majority of them deserve the scorn, ridicule and critical words expressed about them.
Everyone dies - it is one of the few facts of life that is un-changable - It is not sad to me when someone does such damage to the very people and groups he pretends to champion.
It is hypocritical of people to hold him in esteem but worse it is a violation of every oath that man took and the Constitution.
I can not forgive that of any politician - D, R or I - but I still believe that in the end - the Ds win on being greedy, liars and destructive with their ‘votes’.
May his family find comfort in this time.
I feel sorrow for his family.
And joy at the fact that he will no longer stain congress.
Apparently there is a special election 60 days from yesterday.
He got in by the skin of his false teeth, last time (as well as millions in pork of course). I only hope that the voters eralize that, no matter who replaces him, the new rep will not be in a position to deliver that kind of lard-laden largesse, and so will vote based on some residual feelings of citizenship.

So here is the question of the day - from this -’it was septicemia. They nicked his intestine during surgery’- Did Murtha die from the crappy medical care that a lot of Armed Forces veterans suffer under or was his surgeon of the Hasan military medical approval board, or is this truly karma?
Can’t imagine that Congress - would have such sloppy docs as one of their gold plated benefits.
That’s a good question. I’m guessing they thought he was Ok, sent him home, and the infection developed. Once it gets going it’s rampant. And was too much even for major anti-biotic on a post-operative old guy.
A small correction. The Marines don’t have corpsmen, the Navy provides them. That way the Marines can say every Marine is first and foremost a rifleman.
