So I did both. We’re having some mighty hot weather right now, so my plan is to get up stupid early in the morning and go do some more planting and weeding before it gets too hot.
The bread came out super duper. I took a good long look at the recipe, and realized it was more pudding than it was dough - 93% hydration. So I cut the water down, added some more flour, and only used half as much yeast. And it came out more like actual bread than banana bread. Much better. I got good oven spring and a nice opening on the score. Crumb wasn’t big but it was open here and there. Revised recipe to follow.
Time to bag it up for the night in case of ants. The spraying I did worked pretty good, but with ants it’s a never ending battle until you kill the nest. Vilmar has some good ideas there, but right now I have to get rid of the visible ones to keep her happy.
