I hope its as good as you say Skipper. SK hasn’t had a really scarey book since IT. (Nor a worse movie ever made from his work). I’ll wait a few months until the softcover version comes out for $4.99 at WalMart.
It’s classic Stephen King. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending. After all the scarey goodness in the rest of the book, the ending is kinda lame. I know he can do better than that. Then again, maybe he’s planning a sequel. Never mind.
IT was primal in the fears it evoked. Hands reaching out from under the bed, death dealing clowns, posessed sewers. IT was scary.
The Gunslinger series, while it had some good moments, had an ending which left a lot to be desired. The ending, though, was appropriate for the theme.
I am an I.T. guy for a cell phone company, and really...you people shouldn’t read this book. Just eat your soylent green and go on with your lives.
Nothing to see here…
Move along…
All kidding aside, I am looking forward to reading this even more so BECAUSE I work in the industry. See what kind of evil I am helping to spread. MUHAHAHAHAA!!!
(I tried sending this by email, but the email bounced for some reason)
I noticed that you have a lot of pages that have more than a few paragraphs of content take from MSM sources and thought you should be alerted to a new law that might make that a bit tricky for you. I have some stuff about that here on my blog: http://blindmindseye.com/2006/04/25/yeah-lets-vote-republican/ Just thought I’d pass that along after seeing what those shits did to you over the photography thing.
Great call Skipper, I just finished “Cell” and it was a really good read, and you’re right on the ending too, it was kinda weak.
I go one step further. I don’t and won’t own a cell phone. Besides not wanting to cook my remaining few brain cells with that evil 880 MHz pulsed RF, I just plain hate the gawdawful things. I hate the intrusiveness, I hate the stupid “ringtones”, I despise the general rudness of the slackjawed dolts who incessantly yap and yammer into the foolish things. Curmudgheon? Maybe; Luddite? Definitely.
