  1. DO NOT LET IT GET TO YOU ALLAN. CARRY ON.

    And ignore the hassles.

  2. Codemonkey Rule #1
If you ain’t a codemonkey, don’t touch the friggin’ code!

    Codemonkey Rule #2
Never tinker with the live system—use another system for experiments!

    Codemonkey Rule #3
Backup, backup, backup, backup, backup, backup....

    Codemonkey Rule #4
Bend over and grab your ankles tightly if you neglect or forget any of the first 3 Rules!

  4. I think VILMAR owes us an explanation of why he just ran off!
I’ve been a regular on this blog for around a year now and I though Vilmar thought of us as blog friends.
We deserve better than his sudden departure!

As you you oh great Allan smile

As much as you want me too-I won’t go way!

  5. Allan, you are a bit more aggitato than usual lately. I think you are suffering from blog burnout.

Take some time off if you need it. The world will continue to turn if nothing gets posted to this blog for a day or two, or a week or two, or a century or two.

Take whatever time you need to get moved into your new job and living quarters. You regulars can go hang out at Steel’s blog, INC’s blog or any number of other places.

If you don’t want to shut it down altogether, give some of the regulars posting privileges and stop posting yourself for awhile. Relax and enjoy life a little. Maybe Vilmar is on to something with this gardening thing.

  6. You’re doing fine without any help. Stay the course if you can.

If the effort becomes too much - especially given your present domestic & career upheavals - then back off for a while and don’t post so much! You owe your readers nothing. You owe your critics less than nothing. Your readers are all grateful for your energy and insight, and the fact that you have the massive spheres necessary to blog in the first place. The folks who are not grateful don’t matter.

As for the Florida proxie-dicks, direct their spew to a spew-file as best you can and ignore it with dignity. Or...let some of your readers at them. Uh...maybe that’s a bit extreme.

    Carry on, Sir. Please.

  7. I, too, was shocked (SHOCKED, I tell you!) to hear of Vilmar’s apparent leave-of-reason last week. I enjoyed his posts, as I do yours, Allan. Take time off if you need it, and get settled into your new digs and job. Even the SecWar needs a break, esp. when suddenly promoted to Benevolent Dictator.

  12. Dean without Jerry, Lucy without Ricky, bummer. The sum was allways greater than the parts. Ditto #14 BobF.

I hate going to the Motor Vehicle Office, food shopping and MOVING. Hope time will heal the rift.

  13. Yeah, what they said!

A time out.  Time outs are good.

Allan, please take all the time you need.  We will all be here when you are ready to return.

Also, please consider having the get together in July.  Perhaps by then enough time will have passed and we can ALL get together and laugh about it.
