  1. Many thanks for the links. Not so much of that kind of stuff on Napster, or on the radio for that matter.

  2. Your welcome DAC. It is dome great old stuff. I don’t even have a turntable that plays 78s anymore.

  3. Many thanks for the recognition and for being so accommodating, Stan.  Links like these are always good.  But I promise I won’t disappear, never to be seen again.  I was only absent this time to do my 1999 spring cleaning (and recover from it). LOL  I’ll get around to the other missing years eventually.

“In the Mood!” Always the best.  I play it at my every gig, concert A-flat and all.

    wink

  5. My late grandpa was a big band trumpetist.
He used to make me sit through his reel to reel recordings of the greats.
He opened for Satchmo when ‘Pop’ was a teenager.

I love Big Band-Doris Day, Peggy Lee ,Johnny Mercer etc.
    Now THEY had musicianship!

I also enjoy singing music from that era because it shows off my expressive sopralto voice and-well see above. tune  heart

  6. Hi Frank, I live in the RDU Triangle in NC and work the ballroom dance circuit in that general area.

Good for you ALT!  heart  And by the way, are you familiar with the work of Joni James, who grew up in Chicago?  She is one of my two favorite songbirds (Julie London is the other).

It’s good to be back.  GLENN MILLER FOREVER!
