  1. No prayer rugs or korans in Club Vung Tau.  It’s gonna be a tough five years.

  2. Hope he’s got a good immune system since this may be his death sentence if he doesn’t.  On the other hand I really hope that his immune system is highly compromised so he dies off after a painful, lingering infection.

  3. When it comes to English rock stars, this guy’s pretty tame. I mean there were only two underage people involved (not 3 or more), they were both female (not male), and only under 18 (not 9, assumably) tongue rolleye

  4. Perhaps he should have gone to Oman, or is that country reserved for a different proclivity?

  5. Mr. Dung—I love VietNames names—our translator was Mr. Phuc.  I read that they know how to handle pedophiles over there—it can carry a death sentence. I wondered why it took so long to arrest him; you’d think he would stand out from the crowd.

We had a local defrocked ex-priest who went to Haiti to help the poor folk. Do you wonder why we were suspicious of his motives?  Pedophilia has very high recidivism.

  6. Ewe got that right, OCM.  clap clap clap

  7. As a former MSW (Social Worker) I favored group homes for Gary glitter and his ilk—the kind with barbed wire and bars.  They are impossible to change—some of them have asked to be castrated.  Sigh. The hell of it is, other than this “one little problem” they can be upstanding citizens. I mean the kind that stop to help you change your tire or return your wallet if they find it on the street. I’m being absolutely serious here.  Maybe we should just get them in a state of grace and shoot them. Almost serious there.

  8. OCM: Some pedophiles hundreds of victims..  My concern: if we make the penalty for pedophilia the same as murder, what do we make the penalty for pedo AND murder? The second type of victim can’t testify. Same thing applies to rape.

  9. I agree with Oink’s death-penalty opinion. Murder is heinous; but child molestation is worse, because at least the murdered person can rest in peace. A molested child will carry the wounds inflicted upon him/herself forever.

  10. Jester, please, I think you misconstrue Oink’s position entirely.  He doesn’t want the DP for molesters because otherwise they will have an incentive to murder.  And I don’t think you have any business deciding that victims are better off dead.  That is just fucking stupid.

  11. Commandero: Good menu, bad presentation. shut eye  CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG? big surprise

Jester: With kids who have had a trauma, the parents should try to avoid “awful-izing” the event. Firstly, the child takes his clues from the parents, secondly the kid may decide the whole thing is his fault.  Many kids survive events like sexual abuse, and worse, if they are not told that they are scarred for life.

Same with Vietnam and PTSD. (me) Find something between denial and acting the way others tell you you should. Avoid hystrionics for the peanut gallery.
