What Maddona did guarentees her coverage in all the ‘rags’ and time on the ‘news’ stations and will keep her 15 minutes of fame going right up to her November sweeps attempt at getting more sales (i.e. MONEY) coming in.
Yes, Skipper, thousands nay millions of Americans (Peace Corps and Religious Missions) have gone and continue to go abroad into places most of couldn’t even find on a map - to do exactly what you detailed. Building houses, taking medical supplies and drs, building schools, taking clothes and wheelchairs and bringing the most medically needy back to the US for care - and the media rarely writes their stories.
Yet, Oprah, Madonna or Angelina does one thing - Walla Frontpage headlines.
No wonder the muslim world laughs at us.
I’m glad you highlighted this story Skipper as I was equally outraged. If these bozos insist on “helping” why don’t they do something constructive? He may be seen as the head of the Borg collective but Bill Gates has a much better way of helping Africans. Though until they get away from corruption as a way of life it’s hard to know how much it will ultimately achieve. These self absorbed Hollyweirdoes sicken me to my bootlaces.

The irony of it all is that prior to Ronald Reagan becoming Governor of California and later President, the private lives of stars were considered no more than oddities to be commented on by the gossip columnists and spun by the studio publicity departments.
Dr Jeff - that is because the media of the US is down in that gutter that hollyweird types have been elevated to political pundits. Most barely have high school diplomas yet they have the wherewithall to comment on foreign policy, call the President an idiot and so on and so on and then the media wonders why the network news rating numbers are in negative numbers, why the liberal cable news and commentary programs are registering in the single didgits and why the newspapers subscription rates are falling like a rock?
People magazine did a special issue on the Royals - even my daughter was smart enough to say - don’t waste the money buying it for me (she studies all the Royals, not just Britain) because it is garbage.
And they still don’t get it.

I’m sorry. I just don’t get it. Why uproot a child from his home country and take him away from his father, even if the country he lives in is dirt poor?
I hate to sound cynical in answering this question, Skip. But you’re assuming that she sees the child as a child, instead of some sort of exotic pet.
I think of “Mommy Dearest” and cringe whenever I hear about any celebrity adopting a child. Sure, some of those kids might grow up normal, but the odds of being a nutburger out of having had that relationship with the celebrity is far too high.

Rudebadger - come on, you’re thinking. Most of the lunatic left don’t do that. They just believe in governments and social systems that have failed over and over again world wide and just parrot the current ‘talking points’ of the msm and screed on and on how controlled, intolerent and hatefull the Right is. I think that they spend too much time looking in the mirror. And since they have screwed up the public educational system so much, they are too dumb to realize that they are talking about themselves. Take a close look at any and all of their ‘pet’ ideals - it is a twisted connondrum of lunacy and illogical rantings covering up yet another failure whose main goal is just to take more tax payer money.
