   What happened to the idea of critical thinking?  Analysis of reality?  Questioning authority?

   Today’s Liberals aren’t liberal.  Worse yet, they don’t know it.

3. Actually, pressure cooker regulation is an obvious response given the standard Liberal response to firearms incidents.  It also shows the disconnect Liberals have with reality.

   It also correlates with seat belt laws, bicycle helmet laws and every other law intended to keep us safe from ourselves.  The laws produce a false idea of safety while fostering the idea of dependency on the government.

   You’re quite right but seat belt laws had less to do with big brother govt. then it did with ins. companies finding a way out of so many payouts for accidents. Especially head injuries etc.  I always felt that ppl had a right, or should have a right, to be stupid about some things. So long as they only harm themselves and leave the rest of us alone.
   But belts have actually been good long term. Saved my wife from more injury then she might have had, when her car was hit by a small pick up truck carrying logs for fire wood. She’d have done even better if our car of the time had the harness as well. Teen ran a stop sign. Even so she had broken bones and fractures etc. End of car. Damn near her too.

   Not sure about those really dumb looking bike helmets that look like they have been designed by some swishy poof or group of same. Stupidest thing thing I ever saw was a small kid with dad, kid has this three wheel kiddie scooter, and is wearing a helmet, daddy alongside. Beyond simply stupid.
