My brother was a bit ‘wild’ in his 7+ years of college days (he kept changing majors) - and did alot of crazy things. Including consorting with minors (try 14 yos) and providing liquor to minors at illegal (on privately owned land) parties, where once he attacked a guy with a broken beer bottle and cut him several times, I think 9+ accidents - including one with his motorcycle by trespassing (for the umpteenth time) on private land (the guy chained the farm road and almost decapitated my idiot brother), photographing alligators up close and personal, consorting with married women, and possibly smuggling and/or selling drugs - and yet the only arrest he ever got was ‘flipping the bird’ to a peace officer!
Go figure.
A ticket is too light for this. Maybe 15 days in the pokey is a better punishment.
Am I the only member of my generation with a shred of respect for the police(and authority in general)?
They must do things differently out that way. Had I done it, it would have been an illegal RIGHT turn.
Zeb, I agree with you ... but ... cops don’t seem to act like cops anymore either. Around here they’ve lost that ‘interact and socialize with the locals’ aspect, even in my sleepy little bitty crime free town. Maybe it comes from them wearing body armor and carrying all those weapons? That’s got to impact your psyche after awhile.
It would ... but I’d say the extra distance on their part is also in response to the failings of our young people. Sadly, quite a few officers are just plain disgusted with the way society is anymore.
