  1. Not exactly on topic but it reminds me of something I didn’t post. Maybe I will. Don’t know cuz its damn depressing.

This poor young lady on her way to work, she was 7 mos. pregnant, and some filthy miserable MFkr SOB out of the blue ran up behind her and stabbed her in the back. Mother and baby dead.  The bastard didn’t even know her. It was a random attack.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/lawandorder/5474124/Pregnant-woman-stabbed-to-death-in-random-attack-in-Grimsby.html

Then there’s another article from today.

Father dies in own home and pensioner fights for life after stabbing rampage

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1191647/Father-dies-home-pensioner-fighting-life-stabbing-rampage.html

All of which I guess means that all the laws in the world aren’t gonna stop these creeps.

In another story, two guys with records a mile long and one of em with exceptional violent record who has been in and out of prison a number of time, finally hit the jackpot in his twisted minds eye. They broke into an apt. and robbed and then stabbed the two foreign students 244 times over three hours.
Just too fuckin scary here Drew.
If they allowed guns here I swear I’d sleep with one loaded and ready under my pillow.

  2. I carry, and use daily at my job, a cheap (in case of loss or breakage) pocket knife with a 3 1/2 inch blade.  It is not assisted opening, but rather large, and some people seem uncomfortable if I open it in front of them.

If a comment is made, I usually tell them I stopped bringing my big knives to work.

In any case, this is an absurdity.  Are they next going to start a Brit-style media push about ‘knife-crime?’ We all know just how well that has worked in the UK.

  3. Yeah, see Peiper’s comment above myine, to see how well a knife-ban attempt has done.

  4. Sid, never mind knife ban. How about ... any sharp instrument! No kidding.
Of course, the average law abiding citizen doesn’t even think of walking around with any sort of a weapon.

  5. Peiper, that is part of the problem, of course.  Statistics show that crime numbers go down any time there is an increase in legal firearms ownership (such as right-to-carry laws).  If the thugs & yobs knew that some citizens were legally armed, there would certainly be less of the on-street thuggery.

The trouble is that governments generally refuse to acknowledge that a normal, decent human being has the right of self-defense, and a few more murders are fine with them, so long as it does not lead to actual fighting back on the part of the targeted victims.
