  1. Or how about this:

“Don’t FORCE me to vote for Hillary in ‘08”

  2. Cross party lines...

Oops, I laughed so hard that I spewed orange juice out my nose.

  3. Stan and tuffbeingright: Not only must you cross party lines but you must join a Union and become gay. doggiestyle

  4. So, did you get your autoreply email answer from your Congressman/woman/Senator? That’s all you will see from these people. They won’t even read it...we would be lucky if someone from an answering service outsourced to India reads it. If they do give what SEEMS to be an actual answer, I would love to read it.

  5. I addressed this issue in an earlier thread, and I stand by what I posted there, transferred hereunto:

“I have no wish to seem overly pessimistic, but I must confess my fear that this issue is past resolving.

This issue, whether we like it or not, is a minefield for any politician who is intent on his self-preservation, and I am not aware that any other kind exists.

The door has been left open too long.  More-or-less “legal and assimilated” Hispanics now constitute simply too large a voting bloc to ignore or offend.  Any move made toward sealing our southern border is going to be loudly played up as an ethnic issue and not a legal one.  Human nature being what it is, the sensible voices will be drowned out by the screaming of the emotion-driven mob.  As usual.

Thus, few if any politicians will dare to attempt taking this bull by the horns, no matter who they have to thank for their presence in office.  They will not dare to have their names linked to any attempt to close the door.

Only citizens themselves can attempt to close that door.  But it is already obvious that if they do, they will have to fight their own government as well as organized lice like the ACLU, who always exploit such issues for reasons of their own.

And even without this handicap, such a task would require leadership, organization and discipline, as well as numbers, and try as I might, I cannot feel optimistic about the prospects.

I sincerely hope that I am taking too dark a view of all this, but at the moment, the encouraging signs are few.  Others here have compared our position to that of the Roman Empire, in confronting the barbarian infiltrations--and later, barbarian invasions.  The parallel is all too apt.  I fear that we are in the position of a polyglot empire, following in the footsteps of all prior polyglot empires.”

I understand your frustration, Vilmar, for I have some of my own.  But I am afraid that such tactics as these amount only to tilting at windmills.  The only people who can do something about this issue are those who have more to gain than to lose by intervening.  I know of no elected official on any scale who would willingly touch this issue with a ten-foot pole.

As for jumping the fence to the other side?  It would amount only to jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.  Whatever the current administration is or is not doing about illegal immigration, the other side can be depended on to do less.

  6. BobF,

The family origins of our congress critters should not matter.  But unfortunately, in the case of Hispanics, IT DOES.  As a Jew and a daughter of immigrants, I really hate to say it, but these immigrants are not the same as the Italians and other Europeans who came to this country in the early 20th century, to be AMERICANS.

  7. Z Woof, Don’t get me wrong, I live in Texas. We have lots of Mexicans in Texas. Hell, before Sam Houston kicked Santa Anna’s ass, Texas was part of Mexico. It would be wonderful if they had all entered the state legally, but they didn’t. It would be great if our southern border were a bit more secure.

If I spent my time worrying about which of the Mexicans I come into contact with on a daily basis, were legal and which were wetbacks, I wouldn’t have time for anything else. My lawn wouldn’t get mowed. My table wouldn’t get bussed. The oranges wouldn’t get picked. You get my drift. Check out the web site:

    http://www.adaywithoutamexican.com

And BobF, the reason that there are not very many German, Italian, Irish, Polish, English and Scottish wetbacks is because the Atlantic is too damned wide to swim across.

And Vilmar, is you are going to vote for the Democrats if all the wetbacks don’t go away before the next election, then you need to go here and sign up today:

    http://www.democrats.org

Maybe you can post some pictures of you at the Hillary Clinton rally. I enjoyed the pictures of the George W. Bush rally.

Tannenberg, we are the only voices of reason as pertains to this topic.

  8. So it seems, Bob.  I feel kinda lonely sometimes.  How about you?  confused

Posted by Tannenberg    United States   03/28/2005  at  02:17 PM

  9. DELETE ABOVE!  So much for feeling lonely.

So it seems, Stan!  My apologies for the “brain fart.” red face

Posted by Tannenberg    United States   03/28/2005  at  02:19 PM

  10. Needtawrite:  I sent it snail mail.  It’s usually still the best way to get a written response.  No one has time to read 10,000 emails.  But a few snail mails.....yes, they do.

Stan, who said anything about voting Democrat?  Did I say that?  If memory serves, there is still the Libertarian Party and the Independent Party.

  11. OCM:
I never heard of a town called CATMAN.

    Or is it just MAN?

Oh..I get it...Isle of MAN island

  13. WOOOOOHOOOOO good letter Vilmar! I’ll copy it and send it to the Salazars. Marilyn Musgrave is my Rep. and she stands with Tancredo on this.

OCM - Nighthorse Cambell started as a Dem but switched to Repub. Would not be to surprised if Salazar the Rep did the same. You do not get elected in that part of the country unless you are conservative. Salazar the Sen, well not to sure about him. But his brother is very conservative for a Dem. The Salazar’s are a very old family in Colorado. Most of the old families I know of are not very big on letting Mexican nationals into this country illegaly. I’m going to keep track on their voting record and see how they shake out.

Posted by LC Geno    United States   03/28/2005  at  03:46 PM

  14. OCM:

    Los Gatos...what is that?

    The Cat?
    Those Cats?
    Lost Cat?
    Loose Cat?

    Trapani...is what?

    Tra pani...3 leged underware?
    Trap ani...chastity shorts?
Trap any...looking for a sugar daddy, any daddy?

Katmandu is a furry comic book set in a fantasy world populated by anthropomorphic feline and rodent species ...CatManDoo

  15. OCM - It’s not any worse or any better than any other place in the west.
I will state as fact that my industry, construction, would be in serious shit if it were not for mexican or latin american workers. Don’t get me wrong, a legal worker program would take care of the workers that construction needs, we don’t need to give the illegals in this country amnesty. But most young Americans of any race or ethnicity do not want to roll up their sleeves and do my kind of work. There are some but not very many. The last guy that worked for me as a laborer was from El Salvador. Roberto only stood about 4’-11” or 5’-0”. As big around as he was tall, about 48 to 52 years old, and he could work. He always said that this was a “man’s job”, not for “little children or women”. You pick up a matox or sledge hammer and swing that bitch 8, 9 hours a day. It will sure as fuck will put muscles in your shit, and this guy looked forward to it. I loved having Roberto around, and if the ninos started whining he’d give them a no BS piece of his mind. How can you not want and like a guy like that? Find a kid in America that thinks like that, they are there, but they are almost all in the military. The rest of the kids are wussies. Anyway, Roberto was legal, we don’t need illegals.

Sorry about the digression brother. Greyhounds full of Mexicans heading your way, you bet, they are going to go work at the ski areas. Go to Dotsero, about half way between Avon and Eagle, it is exactly like walking into another country.
Salazar and Owens, best I can say is Salazar didn’t screw anything up, but he didn’t do very much as attorney general either. So as far as I’m concerned the jury is still out on him.
I’m actually more interested in his brother. That part of the state is very heavily republican and Salazar the Rep won by a large margin. That means Repub’s put him in office. Don’t blame them, Salazar was the local boy, a rancher in that part of the state and well known by the locals. His opponent was a duffus.

  16. OCM - I don’t think we have a clue as to how many Illegals are in this country. What was the last estimate, 10mil approx? It wouldn’t surprise me if it were double that.
Have they impacted the economy and work force, hell yes. If they left would it hurt the economy, yes but only temporarily. We Americans have a good history of adapting and overcoming bad circumstances.
The more important ?, will they leave/strike, BWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, hell no. Would you? Would you go from making a decent wage, in a free land to a place that is controlled by very corrupt politicians and drug lords. Shit no.
I feel for the bastards, but bottom line, we need to do what is best for America and Americans, and letting umpteen millions of illegals in this land ain’t it.

Posted by LC Geno    United States   03/28/2005  at  06:43 PM

  17. As Chief Walking-Talking-Bullshit-Churchill would tell you, there are currently 280 million illegal aliens in this country.

    How.  dickhead

Posted by The Skipper    United States   03/28/2005  at  06:48 PM

  18. Allan, since Churchill is not really a Native American, I guess he will need to leave the country too. What political party do you think that Vilmar needs to join if the wetback problem isn’t better by the next election? Maybe we should have a poll.

    o Democratic
    o Libertarian
    o Independent
    o Nazi
    o Communist

Those are all the ones I can think of at the moment. Can anyone think of any more?

Posted by Yellow Dog    United States   03/28/2005  at  08:02 PM

  19. Doesn’t Ralph Nader still have a pathetic outfit of some sort?  In any case, self-marginalization will not help. wink

Posted by Tannenberg    United States   03/28/2005  at  09:00 PM

  20. Tannenberg,

I think that I have found a fairly complete list of Vilmar’s options. God knows what it will look like when I paste it into this comment window:

    o Libertarian Party (54)
    o Green Party (41)
    o Reform Party (12)
    o Constitution Party (20)
    o Natural Law Party (4)
o Workers World Party - working-class party that fights against capitalism.
    o Socialist Party USA (12)

    o New Party
o Socialist Labor Party of America (2)
o Freedom Socialist Party - revolutionary feminist organization dedicated to the replacement of capitalist rule by a genuine workers’ democracy.
o American Reform Party - free-standing, national group that in 1997 formally split from Ross Perot and his Dallas-based Reform Party.
    Labor Party (2)
o United States Independent American Party - united by a common Religious Right ideology.
o Timesizing Party of Massachusetts - platform is based on upsizing markets by downsizing the workweek, not the workforce.
o America First Party - site includes mission statement and party platform.

o America’s Party - a new party for Americans wanting responsive government.
o Pot Party 2002 - movement to legalize marijuana, implement proportional representation, and mandate pot growing.
    o Southern Party (4)
    o American Conservative Party (1)
o Christian Alliance - US-based Christian political party.

o Confederate Party of America - believes in abolishing the IRS and establishing a National Sales Tax (NST).

  21. And who says there aren’t choices?

    You obviously forgot one:

Vilmar’s Benevolent Dictator Party What Advocates Open Season On Illegals (VBDPAOSOI)!!!!

Posted by Vilmar    United States   03/28/2005  at  10:16 PM

  22. Holy Cramoles Stan, that is a good bit of work there.
You could strike half of those off from the get go, as they are socialist or communist. No way I can see his Dictatorshipness in one of those.
Depending on how the beach bunnies down the street affect him, the Pansexual Peace Party might work huh? NAHHH, no way. No cluebatting allowed in a peace party.
You think OCM will get him into the Pot Party? Who would they vote for, Woody Harrelson? That will go over like a rock.

Posted by LC Geno    United States   03/28/2005  at  10:29 PM

  23. I could see Vilmar as the Presidential candidate for the Pansexual Peace Party.

OCM is obviously the right Presidential choice for the Pot Party.

Posted by Yellow Dog    United States   03/28/2005  at  10:40 PM

  24. HA HA, Yeah OCM would be perfect. A platform of 100% hemp products for your house and business. Except for the farm animal/kangaroo shit paper products.

Posted by LC Geno    United States   03/28/2005  at  11:09 PM

  25. I appreciate your research, Stan.  The choices for self-marginalization are more numerous than I thought....good grief!

And Vilmar, if you do decide to be a one-man band, remember that your potentially strongest suits are variety of material, tightness of arrangements, and exactitude of tempos.... wink
