  1. It really gets me why there’s so much hanky panky.  Where I’m at, you better be
recognized by one of the your area booth people volunteers, or be prepared to give
plenty of ID.  Then, you get the ballot and your name is crossed off in the books.
Why should it be so complicated anywhere else?

  2. OCM, I live in the one red corner of this damn blue state, and I’ve been pushing for tougher controls at the voting booth for a long long time. Out here in the rural stick (yes, just one. We have 3 cows and an ear of corn) the lady next door works the polling events, so she knows everybody. But in the cities you won’t find that. Yes, we sign off in the book, but they never check IDs. We have a foolproof digital voting machine too, though it has no paper trail. I think that’s kind of silly. But I am ALL in favor of walking out of there with a finger colored Afghani purple! I write letters, I talk to my elected officials, I talk to the people running for positions. It won’t make any difference; the DNC political machine is embedded at the DNA level in this state.

I am not in favor of national IDs. No way. But I would like to see a tough-as-nails set of federal criteria, and each and every state saying “we meet or exceed the standards, and don’t you forget it!”.

There are way fewer than 400 million people in this country, and less than half are registered voters. Maybe 2/3 drive. 3/4 have SSNs. With today’s computers that should only take a couple days to validate everybody and sweep away all the repeat registrations, purge the rolls against the list of felons and dead folks, cross reference against all the SSNs, and find all the illegal aliens who have false drivers liscenses.

Progress IS being made here in other venues. The DMV just put in a real whiz-bang new photo driver’s license that recquires ID out the kazoo and a couple bill stubs to prove its you. How ironic that your current NJ DL is NOT valid ID to get a new DL!!

  3. I fully expect OCM to make a remark about Afghani purple. I seem to recall that was some really bad-ass budd back in the days before Kind and BC. Hey, that’s an idea that would get more people to the polls! weed  joint

  4. I’ll repeat what I’ve said before. I support showing proof of citizenship and residence when you register and showing a picture ID when you vote.

Hell, you have to show a picture ID to rent a damn movie. Voting should be at least as well documented. It’s certainly more important.

Does anybody notice who’s protesting the loudest against positive ID at polling places or any other voting reforms?

  5. I’m frankly surprised that the numbers were so low, under the circumstances.  I’m fairly sure that the donks would have liked a better showing among the deceased.

Never, NEVER look for ANY donk to support cleaning up election fraud.  They know who it favors, by and large.  Liberals, criminals and scum, always together, always...always…

  6. Dead is dead!  Something fishy in New Jersey.........

  7. Lots of things fishy in NJ, Dottie. Remember when they figured out that Robert “the Torch” Toriccelli couldn’t get re-elected to the Senate and pulled a last minute swap?

Never mind that the state laws didn’t allow it within 51 days of an election (he did it 36 days before) the NJ supreme court allowed them to swap in Frank Lautenberg in his place.

I recall seeing part of the proceedings. The “justices” were looking for a way to go against the law in this case. It was awful.

  8. In NJ, Tannenberg, dead is relative. There is dead, but voting; dead and sleeping with the fish (but likely still voting); and there is not dead but republician and therefore technically dead by NJ standards.

BTW- anyone have any idea what happened to Mr. du Toit? I hope that the BATF didn’t get him.

  9. Kim said he was taking some time away from blogging to do more towards earning a living. You might check with this guy for more.

  10. Thanks, Stin. I knew that he had found a new job but his departure from our electronic world was rather sudden and devoid of any fanfare.

  11. The real joke is that the ID proof issue gets fought against hardest in the states that have the worst problems. One of the votors issues groups listed my state, Wisconsin, as the worst case of all of the election fraud situations that occured in 2004.

We had over 7,000 verified cases of fraudulent voting in the city of Milwaukee alone. The head of the city election board for Milwaukee (IN THE 2004 ELECTION!!!!!) spent prison time after the 2000 election for passing out cigarettes to indigents in exchange for their votes (for Gore). Over 5000 dead voted in 2000 (almost all for Gore).

This state which has gone to Democratic candidates in the last 2 elections has had more people vote in Milwaukee than it had legal votors both times, and the number of fraudulent votes have been more than the margin the Democrats have won by. Tal about the feeling of the validity of one’s vote. Why bother? They will just find a way to name the person they want in office. Do you actually think that slimy bitch Gwen Moore was really elected? Pfahhh!!
