Anybody But Obama

  1. At least Romney, unlike McCain, seems to want to win.  I don’t expect any garbage out of Romney about his friend Obama, or about what a fine president Obama will make if that is the way the election goes.  I also don’t expect any senior Romney officials to quit because they don’t want to run against Obama.  Romney also will not cripple himself with matching funds, because Obama said I will if you will.  This is, however, a situation of damning someone with faint praise; as it would be hard to do worse than McCain.  Hopefully Romney comes up with a decent VP pick to make it easier to vote for the robotic moderate.

(In case it is not clear, the is no conceivable circumstance under which I will not vote for Romney in November.  He is clearly better than Obama.  I just wish we had a better candidate.)

  2. I wish I could say I felt good about it.

  3. Obama or Obama lite.. What a choice. Newt creeped me out and Romney is a ‘progressive republican.’ I agree that I will vote for Romney before the Obama, but I will be holding my nose as I do it.
This is presuming that his holiness doesn’t find a way to overturn term limits and make himself messiah for life…

  4. In good conscience I can’t vote for Romney - he is McAmnesty redo - and look at where that got us. It was not inevitable - as where Paul’s, Gingrich’s and the unclaimed delegates went was up in the air - some of the states were counted for Romney but aren’t ‘winner take all’ - so the GOP has been beating the RINO drum throughout this whole affair to reach this end - only one candidate, theirs.

And so we come down to (again) the choice between arsenic and hemlock.

BITE ME GOP - I can’t in good conscience vote for Romney (as you will keep nudging us to the left) and I won’t ever vote for Obama.

Where does that leave me - yes, once again without a viable choice.

Hey maybe there really is a Republican war on women . . . and men . . . and future American generations . . . and the Constitution . . . but most importantly on FREEDOM.

  5. All three of you speak for me as well. Although Newt didn’t creep me out. Of all the crowd he always seemed to be the smartest and he sure as heck knows how DC works from the inside.
But I can’t say I hold out any great hopes for our side. We live in depressing times.

  6. "Better find some things to like about Mittens.”

I really, REALLY like the fact that he’s not obama.

Wardmama - I respect your position, but IMO not voting for Romney is the same as voting for obama. Lots of people stayed home in 2008, and as you said, “look at where that got us”.

  7. Well, The main reason Newt ‘creeped me out’ was the fact that he couldn’t keep the most sacred vow a person could make. He is too much like Clinton. There is also the fact that he knows his way around DC, maybe a bit too well.
Romney in his own words has adjustable opinions and morals. He admits that he is wishy washy! We need a staunch conservative who won’t let a pretty argument or a deal to change his mind. Not Obama lite.

  8. Oh I know CenTxTim - and it’s how we got two terms of Clinton - which makes me suspect that the GOP is in on this offering only pathetic or RINO candidate intentionally to take America left and more left.

It is why I can’t in good conscience vote for Romney (as I do not believe he is going to go after Obamacare - I just don’t believe him). And yes, it does open the door for 4 more of the Big O. I know, in my heart that if nothing changes before Nov - I will pull the lever for Mittens - I just feel in good conscience that I can’t do it. But even the worst the GOP foists on us (never forget that the stellar - ‘wants to win’ - Romney bowed out in FEB 2008) is better than the race-baiting, job killing moron we have right now.

I just wish that WE THE PEOPLE actually could put forth a candidate and have a real (like closed to Republicans only primaries) path to the nomination not controlled by the media (Fox ‘Special Report’ has had a Romney link up forever) and the GOP and not have to end up having to violate our conscience and hold our noses to vote for the least worst candidate.

Hasn’t happened since Reagan - I had hopes for GWB and thought he would be good - but that didn’t happen in the end. All the others have been weak-kneed cowards buffaloed by the media and the DNC.

And I don’t like being forced to accept second best. This is America - we should be better than that.

  9. What I don’t like is that Santorum ‘suspended’ his campaign. Just be a man and say Romney beat me. Try again next time. What’s this ‘suspended’ stuff?

As for Romney, I’m not thrilled, despite being a fellow Mormon. My first choice was Herman Cain. Second: Mr. Newt. But I do think Romney’s a better choice than McCain in ‘08. The only smart thing McCain did was choosing Sarah Palin as his running-mate. Let’s see who Romney chooses for a running-mate. That will tell us quite a bit about him.

I am concerned about one thing wardmama. Our current President never served in the military, now we’ve an alleged nominee who didn’t either. I honestly think you are unqualified if you’ve not served. Even President Reagan served, though not with combat troops. You can’t be the Chief Executive of the US and give orders without knowing how to take orders. I think that explains the arrogance of the Obama Administration.

SNOFU – Situation Normal, Obama F•cked Up!
