  1. How ironic. Now it will be those evil knives fault since humans know better than to do things like that.

  2. -’became involved in criminality and was shot at his then home in Haydock’- what a stupid, vapid and inane way to sayHe Became A Criminal and was killed due to it.

I wonder if with the ban on guns (and it sounds like laws and common sense) - has the crime rate decreased significantly? Has the homicide rate decreased significantly? And finally, has the stabbing/beating to death rate increased significantly?

It is not the weapon - it is the social conditions - and until respect for life - any life, the downplaying of ‘material’ and/or ‘wealth’ possessions, support for a strong stable intact family and laws that are known and enforced - this is going to continue.

Paying people simply to exist does not work - they become bored, angry, resentful and since they usually aren’t educated - they blame others for their situation. And then they become violent. Simplistic but come on, if two people who have nothing and don’t care to do much of anything to make their life better, have a child - it is a given that child is going to have even less of a chance to make something of their life - because he/she has even less to start with - including guidelines, parental concern and encouragement.

And then the social problems get worse - on the personal level - being socially, politically and certainly governmentally intolerant of crime, poverty, no education, bad or inappropriate parenting - seems to be draconian and mean spirited - but for the good of society, for the functioning of all aspects (religious, social, educational, political, criminal-justice, security) of society - it is a requirement.

We as societies are being forced by the fiberals and leftist whiners to downplay and question all laws as being harsh and not taking into consideration personal issues/conditions and mean spirited and intolerant.

The problem is that a society without laws (enforced) is anarchy and chaos.

And because of an inappropriate response to the death of her criminal son (I’d be too ashamed to even speak up in public if one of my children had a criminal history - much less ignore it as a probable cause of his death) - she ended up proving that her response was inappropriate to the max.

It is a shame - and no one will see the root cause and start working on that - simply because some whiner calls it intolerant.

  3. "Mrs Regan, a mother-of-six, started campaigning against gun crime after her son Danny was shot dead in 2002.
A 20-year-old man, a family member, has been arrested. Police said post-mortem tests would take place later.”

Hmmm.... sounds to me like what should have been taken away was this genetic line’s ability to continue polluting the gene pool. But at the same time, sounds like the family is actually taking care of that issue itself.

Think of it as evolution in action.

  4. But I thought the wonderful, thoughtful, concerned politicians had already banned all those evil guns!

As a side note a group of 18 members of my church took a concealed carry class on Saturday and are now qualified and will soon have their Arizona issued Concealed Carry Weapon permits.  CCW an idea whose time has come.  I have more signed up for a second class in July.  You might try visiting with your politicians and see what you can do to reverse the slide down the hill towards nanny state totalitarianism.

  5. I couldn’t help but note the apparent absence of a ‘Dad’ in this story. Might it have made a difference in her son’s ‘becoming a criminal’? Just a thought.

  7. Next up in the UK, a ban on small rocks and heavy glass bottles. And hammers. And any lengths of iron pipe more than 3” long. And all cricket bats must be kept at a sporting center that is licensed in their safe handling and storage.

Sorry Peiper. It’s the youths, not the weapons. Somehow the UK has managed to raise a generation of heartless killers, and isn’t drafting them into the army. Now you all have to pay the price, day after day after day.

Is it too late to bring back the iron maiden? Cruel and unusual punishment for cruel and unusually violent crimes.

  8. Good thing she didn’t have a gun, she might have been able to defend herself and driven some other mother to a life of crusading against inanimate objects tools which help protect aging women from young thugs.

    Irony, anyone?

  9. This is another place where I think Heinlein was an unusually clear thinker.

Spank him, rub his nose in it, tell him no. Just like housetraining a puppy. In other words, publish his name in all the local newspapers and have him publicly flogged.
