Another Reason New Jersey Sucks

  1. In 2009, we moved from NY to MA. NY is one of the few places you can come to MA from and think the taxes in MA are reasonable. We’re paying about 1/3 the real estate taxes, and apart from the garbage being collected once per week instead of twice, I don’t see any real difference in services. I was also able to get a concealed carry permit with no hassle. What’s not to like?

The taxes may never go down in NJ. But after a bunch of years of people voting with their feet, it may start looking like Detroit.

  2. I gotta say, I’m having trouble dealing with my 1700 sq. ft. home. Two story, three bedroom… It’s just two big for only two people. Can’t imagine what I’d do with 5600 sq. ft. That would just give my wife more room to be a packrat. Better be able to afford a butler and a maid. I’m seriously trying to downsize. We haven’t needed this much room since the last kid moved out. That was in ‘94. I’d personally like to downsize to this. Or that.

I know, not for everyone. But I’m intrigued.
