Another load of hot air

 

1. Cool.... There are a couple of balloon rides outfits that run over the lake country north of Detroit. It’s still sort of a surprise to see one float over while driving down I-75.
   Back in the 70’s at Michigan State, some guys in the dorms got hold of hundreds of plastic “City of East Lansing” trash bags and split them open then taped(?) them together to try and make a hot air balloon. First day, they tried to fill it with a wood burning fire and some big fans. It wasn’t enough so next time they used some kind of propane burners. It still wasn’t enough to lift a person, but the empty balloon did manage to sail over the dorm and crash in the golf course next door.... wish I had some pictures, but my camera wasn’t working either.
