ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE NANNY STATE MAKING DECISIONS FOR US. FOR OUR OWN GOOD OF COURSE.

  1. Fine. just by two bars.  Bunch of dumbasses!

  2. Socialism really is a mental illness. 22% of the public think this is ok? This is what happens when the state does your thinking for you.

  3. > Fine. just by two bars.  Bunch of dumbasses!

And the chocolate manufacturers will charge the same (or more) for the smaller sizes, and will be quite delighted that people will buy two, as will the government, who collects the taxes on two purchases, not one.

My response to this is the same as to the airlines/TSA:  You want to cock it up this bad?  Fine, I’ll go do something else that costs me less, and that I enjoy the end result of MORE (drive my car.)

    Or where chocolates are concerned:

    150 lbs of sugar:  $120.00
    150 lbs of cocoa:  $150.00
    Digital Candy Thermometer:  $30.00
Decent collection of chocolate/candy cookbooks:  $200.00

Being able to independently make truly decadent confectioneries and thumb your nose at both the candy companies AND the nanny-state government:  PRICELESS.

  4. What they want is to control even the smallest and most personal decisions that each individual used to make for himself.

What they want is a population so inured to the erosion of freedom and personal responsibility that they will bend over for anything the state decides is best, no matter how idiotic or picayune.

What they want, in the end, is a world of complacent sheep, living in their dimly-lit and barely-heated hovels, being forced to get permits for anything they hope to do, from taking a trip to hammering a nail, and who then will not raise a voice in anger, or even complaint, when those permits are denied for any reason, or more likely no reason at all.
