Yea, arrest was all that officer had left if the report is acurate. He gave him ample oppurtunity to back off.
As a a former LEO I know where that Chief was. It would appear that this fellow was determined to get arrested to make his point. More power to him. Some time you must just oblige these folks.
All the talk about reading passages from scripture being hate speech was not from the officer or was it what he was charged with.
I get your point about the hate speech, but think about it. By pushing it to the point were he was arrested he’s made a bigger statement than reading all night.
Being the nice guy I am, had I been the Council Chairman after the recess I would have simply moved the meeting to another room and concluded the business at hand while the other guy went on reading scripture at the podium.
