Harper’s is “not necessarily reliable,” and this is nothing new.
GRRRRRR! Damn Magazine. The SOB’s can’t find enough deserters to fill up their camera lens, so they fake it.
Speaking as a former Marine, a point of military courtesy:
“Marines who had just arrived at boot camp and had yet to have their hair shorn or anything else.”
Those aren’t Marines. Those are slimy civilian shit-bags, soft lumps of useless fat who have the audacity to attempt to earn the title “United States Marine.” If they can survive the following thirteen weeks, then and only then will they be addressed or referred to as Marines.
Until such time, the most prestigious title afforded them will be “dick-faced little fuckstain.” (Or something similar; it’s been nearly twenty years, so it’s difficult to remember the exact phrases so artfully utilized by my D.I.’s… But I’ll never forget their names).
