I’m interested also in the idea of ammo and how much a person has etc. By the looks of it here, it appears that gun owners will have to justify their buys.
Well, what happens then to the folks who go target shooting and spend lots of time at a range? With regard to checks on people buying a gun, the anti gun shouters seem to forget that in the Newtown killings, the bad guy took his mother’s guns. Chances are she probably was checked out when she bought, so what good would this new legislation being proposed have done? None I can see.This really is an important story, and will be waiting to see how it plays out.
It’s certain that the left and the hand wringers now have a large propaganda coup to play off of. I think it gets somewhat worse in that from the bits I’ve read here, there’s some gun owners that are okay with new laws on guns, thinking that the nut cases will somehow be magically disarmed.They were Babies and no one can deal with that fact yet so this BS will go on for some time.

Gosh, according to Gun Nut Math, 15 shots in 10.8 seconds is 84 rounds a minute! Ok, that’s not a machine gun, but it’s close. You could use that 150 year old rifle to hit 26 targets in less than half a minute.

I could go on, but the point is clear - the 2nd Amendment is intended for the people to resist the government. Every law which limits, regulates, or controls the peoples ability to be armed is unconstitutional! Every attempt to limit what firearm a citizen may posses is a step in the enslavement of the United States citizenry.

Here’s a two-for-one - Hobby Lobby has a ‘cowboy decor’ - in that section is a slim metal ‘sign’ about (something like, I have lousy short term memory) ‘You make take my gun when I’m out of ammo and out of my cold dead hand’.
Protect two Amendments (Hobby Lobby’s right not to be FORCED to pay for something they do not believe in - 1st Amendment) and of course We The People’s 2nd Amendment Right to NOT be infringed upon by tyrannical government control freaks.
However, having said all that - putting Bite Me in charge - makes the entire thing seem like a big joke.

Funny how this bunch is ok with using Dumbocare to mandate a faux ‘right’ (show me where the RIGHT to bc is in the Constitution) - but go directly after a RIGHT spelled out succinctly and unlimited - time after time.

I agree Wardmama, but people are frightened. (why they haven’t been frightened before this given everything the Marxist In Chief and his Gang o’ Thugs have done is beyond me) Here in NJ I’ve talked to at least 3 otherwise normal people who have buried stashes of firearms and ammo where the jack boots can’t find them and even the black helicopters using MAD gear can’t locate them. When possession of a couple ounces of plastic (hi cap magz) is a crime so severe that it’s mandatory jail term is equal to that served by many rapists and hit and run homicides, then the end game is near.

In a way Rich I agree - this cult of personality empty suit who is (p)Resident - is continually briefing the State Media on distractions while he goes off and takes away another freedom.
Problem with this one is it is a RIGHT and it is one that millions of Americans. Can someone tell me where that 80 million gun owners number comes from? I mean I know at least 4 guns passed to other people without paperwork (as I have the original bill of sale for one of them) - and I’m sure that I’m not the only one who has had family (the gun passers are all dead for those in the Administration who are tracking this, so I can’t ask who they passed the guns on to nor do I have a clue as I left home at 18). And when you add in the number of collectible and antique guns out there (pre all this gov paperwork/background check bs) - I’m really truly sure that number is way low.
And I believe much as the Republicans have shown themselves to be traitors, gutless, spineless and almost as much a part of the problem as the DemocRATS - one thing both parties are more concerned with and supersedes even the current ‘crisis’ or legislation that might get them into the next DC gala event is - THEIR RE-ELECTION and most of them will get more than an ear full (or text box, or email box or mail box) of not simply NO, but HELL NO.
And in the end - it all comes down to votes for the crapweasels in DC.
