  1. I LOVE the Dillon reloaders, they’re rock solid, just like you said.

Glad you got a reloading day, those are sweet. smile

  2. I don’t usually do it for that long. Standing in one place for hours at a go is pretty hard on my feet. Which is one reason I love my Dillon; I can zoom out 5 boxes of pistol ammo in about 35 minutes, enough for a pretty shooty afternoon at the range. And I don’t have to worry that the powder charge is going to vary as much as a tenth grain - 1/70,000 of an ounce.

Dillon Precision is a very aptly named company.

That said, there are other companies that make things that can improve the RL550B and the RL650 presses. If you are looking to make the most precise ammunition you can, and you don’t mind vastly increasing the amount of time it takes to change from one cartridge set up to another, then the machined and helicoiled toolhead made by Uniquetek is a great addition. I’ve got several of the Uniquetek enhancements on my rig, and this one gives you the most bang for the buck. The Turbo Bearing is pretty decent too.

  3. Drew all these new recruits to home loading and worries over “the One” are leading to component shortages. I can’t get any pistol powder locally. I will probably have to drive a couple of hundred miles to get some! I wish I had some shares in Hornady or Hodgon about now.

  4. Lyndon, what do you need? 231? WAP? N110? Try a different powder.

TNTreloading.com has a fair amount on hand. So does http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/ . No, not everything, but between them you can get something usable. And look at alternates - Powder Valley is one of two places in the USA to buy Rex or Norma powders. (grafs.com is the other, and they have low stock on everything)

I know, I know, the !<#$ing $32 HAZMAT fee. So get your pals together and put in an order for 16lbs or more. That way it’s only $2 per pound.

Oh, and Starlinebrass.com says a new batch of brass will be available at the end of this month.

Good luck with primers though. They’re still hit or miss. I just paid $32 a case for Federal small pistols, and the dealer would only sell me ONE case. Stercus!

PS - you can’t blame a new reloader for the shortages that have been going on since late October.
