I would say something about your location, but I’ll be kind.
Friend Drew has as we all know a wicked sense of humor. Lets add cruel to the list.
I warned you.
Frozen pipes this morning. I hate winter.
Tiger, that really is one of our greatest fears in a house as old as this one is. Frozen pipes. In this house, that would spell disaster writ large. I’ve actually had a plumber see this place and refuse to do any work as I was told it was just too old, and he didn’t want to be held responsible should anything go wrong. And it once did back in 05 when we had a flood in the kitchen.
Peiper: I also have an old house (aren’t they just so much fun?)
I’ve got the situation solved; cellar’s ambient temperature is up, frozen spot in pipes has melted free, and water’s flowing again. The best news: I caught it soon enough that there’s no burst pipe(s) to deal with.
The -30 degree temperature snap can go away any time it wants…
This time, I feel good about living in Los Angeles. Temps have been mostly in the 70’s although we did have a day that hit 82^.
Every year, the typical mid West winter kills about as many people as all the earthquakes in California since the San Francisco quake about 100 years ago. You could also add the effects of the hurricanes in the Gulf and the whole East Coast that gets hit with various storms and hurricanes. Oops, can’t forget all the tornadoes either. Why do they always hit trailer parks?
Now tell me again about how bad our earthquakes are?
