My stepdad was raised on the Oregon coast and clamming was a staple in his families diet.
So of course my brother and I were introduced to this activity at an early age.
Actually kinda fun but you do get wet and you can cut your hands pretty good trying to hold on to the sharp little bastards shells as they try to burrow deeper into the sand.
To this day still not a real fan of clams because mom had no idea how to prepare them and stepdad just fried them in butter while almost always overcooking them. Yuk.
Wait, what? You can cook them? I thought all you needed to eat clams was a sturdy little knife and a lemon. Maybe a bottle of Tabasco in you pocket.
