  1. Sounds to me like he did exactly what he was supposed to do: given the scenario of a Soviet invasion and a super-left Quisling government, he did what was necessary to set up Le Resistance ahead of time.

    Don’t forget what the politics of Europe was like in the 70s. Commies left and lefter, “Greens”, “Red Brigades”, revolutionaries, and near-terrorists all over the place, in every government on the continent. Plus euro-hippies under every rock.

    I love that he set up and trained his own guerrilla army. And it’s only the leftist government then, and the leftist media now, that is out to make him look bad, even now when he’s dead. Granted that that two-bit dumkopf Schilling ratted him out and acted like a total douche. Probably a worthless desk jockey annoyed that he had to actually spend an evening doing field work.

    Maybe we should just shout “Vielfraße!” or “carcajou!” in his memory.
