  1. Still Tesco was the excuse, the local MP has taken this up, and yes Asda and Tesco are feeding the nation and the police are inept and corrupt.

  2. There are several sides to this one, which is why I ran it when Chris sent me the link. I’m not really sure which side I’m on. I do feel that the people have the duty to rise up against jackbooted thug police and a lying government, but I can not tell if that is what we saw here. Especially since most of “the people” here are benefits farmers (love that term), anarchists, and other trouble makers.

Why did the cops choose that one particular eyesore of a building to raid, when there are so many other squatters in the area, and those in that building had been there for nearly a decade without anyone caring? I can’t say. Was it because of Tesco’s influence or is it the first round in urban cleansing? I don’t know, but it does seem quite the coincidence given that the mini-Tesco’s (thanks for clearing that up, I didn’t realize the new store was just a little bodega).

Did the cops do a bodge job of things, or was it a lose-lose situation that they knew in advance was going to go off, and because of that foreknowledge they brought in other officers, even those from other countries. Maybe it was.

But it is simply wrong that any police force anywhere have “no go” zones. That’s a breakdown in authority, but it’s also a breakdown in civilization.

  3. Chris do some background checks on Kerry McCarthy the local MP for somalia east. She is a low life Labour dirtbag. As a rule I tend to side with the police, but this was a botched operation that they have tried to cover up after the event by telling fibs. However it is as I stated previously a symptom of the decline of Britain under primarily socialist governments since 1945 with the odd interuption such as Chrchill and Thatcher most of the governments have been “progressive socialists” and the establishment has become increasingly leftist. We are merely reaping what previous generations have sown.

  4. Lyndon, thanks. I forgot to mention that MP, who I heard very briefly on BBC4.

Drew raises some interesting points but it’s almost a game of finger pointing. I had heard that the cops had word of ppl in that particular bldg making bombs. Who knows? But they did say they found evidence of that. So I guess the question is, should we believe them? I really tend to lean toward the police. But why, when I’m in no position to actually know or have facts at hand. Only what I read and hear on the news.
One thing is certain however. However much some think they don’t need a Tesco in their town, much opposition comes from the more active (violent?) anarchistic left, bleating about the rights of the people.  Usually also ignoring the people who welcome a Tesco store. Or a Sainsbury’s, or a Waitrose, or a Morrisons. You may add the list. There’s always that core group that block the entrance so folks who have every right to shop there, can’t.
    So much for people’s rights.
