Well, treason had no effect on her career that’s for certain.
She was for some time, on this side of the water, the face L’Oreal cosmetics, with full page glossy covers in mags etc. Go figure. What she did is unforgivable.
Notice she had to go overseas for her career. Her name **** at home.
No and that’s just one thing that bugs me. She didn’t have to come here because her career was over, in the states. She has made movies so someone is willing to pay her, and actually, her life and taking in her age btw, and her support at home remains firm. Which just pisses me off. To you and I she’s trash. What she did would in another more logical age, have resulted in prison or the death penalty.
Except for her going almost naked in ‘Barbarella’ I can’t name anything she’s done. She’s only famous for taking her clothes off.
I don’t like her and was never exactly a fan anyway. But that said, she has done a lot more than you imagine. Which still doesn’t make me think of her kindly.
Also ... tons of ‘a and b’ list Hollywood personalities and by which I mean major stars also, do commercial work on this side they never do at home. Always the glamour range of products and high end jewelry and cloths. Rolex watches comes to mind. Mostly very glossy magazine ads featuring people like George Clooney.
As for Fonda, she did win the Academy Award, 2wice. And Klute was a fairly popular movie once upon a time. 1971. She’s done a lot since then of course.
Just cos we dislike someone (in my case simple dislike doesn’t even cover it) doesn’t mean the object of that ill will has not had some success in their field.
