  1. Here you go, Drew:

    USA Amazon.com:

Outset QB00 Rosewood and Stainless Steel 3-Piece Barbeque Set with Spatula, Fork, Tongs

(One left, marked as discontinued, for $31.92)

    CANADA Amazon.ca:

Outset QB00 Rosewood and Stainless Steel 3-Piece Barbeque Set with Spatula, Fork, Tongs

Not marked as discontinued, but also more than twice the price at CDN$ 72.94, probably because there’s a middleman injecting themselves (Dealkings instead of Outset which is the actual brand/manufacturer.)

  2. thanks AGT, but that is not the same set. That’s the lighter weight series that is available in several places. The shaft of the spatula on the one you linked to is flat steel and only about 4” long

The key part of this one’s design is the large square forged hanger loop and the full tang construction with the riveted handle scales. It really is a hefty piece; the tang under the handle is 1/8” thick and the pommel ( I want to use sword part names here due to the mass ) aka hanger loop is 3/4” thick.

    Keep trying, please.

  3. I mistakenly thought similar-looking-sets were within the search parameters of what you were looking for, but I now understand that isn’t the case.

You’re right about the difficulty in finding an exact match.  Even using archive.org to try to dig into older pages from Outset’s product lines, I’ve had no luck as I can only reach back to 2009.

Keep in contact with the company; try to get them to put you in touch with someone who actually remembers this specific product, and can tell you why it’s no longer sold.  Who knows, you might be able to convince them to let you purchase NOS (new old stock) if they bothered to keep any around.  Unlikely, I know, but at least worth asking about.

  4. I hadn’t thought about trying the NOS world. I thought that was for high end stuff like silver patterns and so on. Good idea.

  5. Your best bet will be Ebay, where new old stock and bad ideas goes to die.

  6. Already done eBay, and Craigslist too. But you are more than welcome to give them a search on my behalf.
