If they try to grapple-hook and board, respond with flamethrowers. Let’s see how much they can focus on their high-seas piracy when they’re being turned into charcoal briquettes.
Google Maps shows that location as being not quite half way from Iran to the United Arab Emirates, over 1,000 miles from Somalia.
You’re right, seems like a big operation for some rag tag ex fishermen working in local waters.
AGT - I agree! flamethrowers, or that flaming shit they used to pour from cauldrons from the tops of castles (al la Hunchback of Notre Dame! ) - that’ll do the trick! Somali Pirate Fricassee in a delicate sea salt sauce! Yum!
Tell you what - if I was a ship owner, I’d go buy a crate of stingers (or whatever) and take the F’ers out along with their boat with one shot, sail merrily away and deny all responsibility, and let international law sort it out. I mean, if moronic terrorists can buy anti-tank/ship weapons, how hard can it be?
Missing: Bodies and body parts flying out of the explosion.
They really need to do these demonstrations within sight of Mogadishu Harbor as a visual lesson (and using some spectacular fuel/air bombs or even a tactical nuke on some motherships wouldn’t hurt.)
"ship security has progressed from the barbed wire and fire hoses of a couple years back to teams of armed mercenaries aboard”
It’s amazing how often that lesson needs to be relearned. The use of equal or superior force in self-defense results in fewer attacks. Look at crime statistics in right-to-carry states.
Flamethrowers and Stingers are nice, but I’d settle for a few quad-mounted .50 caliber M2s.
Thank you for the Chuckle Of The Day!
