    Drew458 was talking about The Naval War. A three year conflict with Revolutionary France in which U. S. warships and privateers engaged in commerce raiding and combat with French warships. The action was confined to the French Caribbean and did a fair amount of military, economic, and morale damage to France and the Revolutionary French Navy. It lead to changes in the French government, and contributed to the eventual assumption of power by Napoleon Bonaparte.
