This is just another attack on private property. Kelo v New London - the Supreme Court upheld a stupid definition of blight and of ‘public’ need - and guess what - after razing all the ‘blighted’ properties - the construction company went out of business. We had it happen here - up at UC, they wanted a parcel between two one-way streets to make ‘room for businesses’ - one family (get this, family BUSINESS) fought them for an age. The land is still laying bare - and all those people are out of homes/businesses they have had for years or generations. Now this new twist (I think there is another case in CO, too) - even if Ms ‘affordable housing’ had a lease - after 30 days notification - the owner can put your stuff on the lawn and burn the damn house down. I know, had a landlord sell the house while I was still on a lease. It use to be ownership trumped most everything else. Now it is becoming that the only people who can own property are those with a enough money to hire lawyers to protect it. The criminal justice system is corrupt - but then look who is at the head of it.
