America And The Imperialism Of Ignorance. does that include our money too?

What a deranged article. Let’s see, who invaded South Korea? It wasn’t the US, it was the communists. What kind of behavior did the communists have in any country that they invaded? Round up the populace and start the killings. Look at the Berlin Airlift in 1947, East Germany in 1953, Hungary in 1956. The communists were not benevolent at all but revolutionary and terroristic. They did not bring a better system of economics or politics to anybody. But wait! America did! America gave hope to millions and it still does.

This guy had 29 red down arrows. I took off one. The anti us people can’t even acknowledge the correctness of his comment.
I really am tired of this place.

  1. Silly me, I had thought Soviet apologists were a thing of the past. I’m sure the people of Poland would have something to say about his thesis, as would the Cheks. And the Romanians, and all the other eastern nations that got hit on the head by the iron curtain.

This guy is a total moron. The only possible excuse I can give him is that he was raised in government schools.

Stalin may not have originally planned on world domination, but the Winter War in Finland and the post-WWII carving up of Europe sure let him run with the idea. And this was long before Truman.

  2. I didn’t expect to have my comment accepted but happy to say it was, and I got four up arrows.  Which isn’t close to the up arrows the anti American posts have.
Anyway .. here’s what I said in the Mail comments, in answer to the jerk from London who said,

they also decided that the East Coast of the U.S.A. was wide open to invasion by the British and they prepared to erect defences to protect America against such a ridiculous invasion. - Ron Phillips, London, England, 29/7/2011 ....

I’m American and originally from the east coast and grew up there. I have never heard or read anything so stupid even among all the misguided anti American comments by people who know little but think they know all. What I do remember after the war were the drives for “Bundles For Britain” and various charities collecting monies. I never heard of Brits spoken of but in the highest and most respectful terms. And Churchill was almost a god like figure. I wish there were room to answer more of some of the outlandish and pig ignorant comments about my country. But then, why try and confuse so many with facts when their believed fiction sits so well with them.

  4. Good post peiper. Just a cursory read results in the following question: How does Alex Alexander define ‘world peace’?

In fact, his book is not all that ‘provocative’. The definition of ‘world peace’ is something that philosophers and messiahs have grappled with for millenia. The so-called ‘Pax Romana’ was constantly involved in war…I guess it was only peaceful if you were in Italy, far from the German border.

My definition of ‘world peace’? Keep the West strong enough that the ‘tin-plated dictators with delusions of Godhood’ won’t be tempted to attack. Unfortunately, our alleged-President is a wimp. I wasn’t all that fond of Bush 43, (I know, I supported his reelection. Who else was there?) he screwed up domestically, but he did keep us fairly safe.

Frankly, we won’t win this war with so-called ‘extremist Islam’ until we realized that the extremists are the norm. The US Government has already gone to war with a religion. In the 1880’s, Congress disenfranchised the Mormons. Confiscated their properties (churches, etc) and sent their leaders into hiding.

Why? Did the Mormons attack and kill US citizens? Like Muslims did on 9/11?

No. All they did was practice polygamy.

Now we face a so-called ‘religion’ who calls us the Great Satan, plots to commit mass murder, etc.

Oh yes, they also practice polygamy. When is the US Government going to move on that?

  5. Peiper, maybe Ron Phillips meant to write “Soviets” and just typed “British” as a Freudian slip.

USA did set up an east coast defense network, missile defense net called “Ring of Steel” that lasted unto 1975.  That gave us several generations of fantastic interceptor missiles like Nike Zeus, Nike Hercules, Spartan and Sprint ... all tipped with nuclear warheads, shh don’t tell anybody! By the mid 70s we’d realized that Soviet missiles would be dropping the nukes, not bombers, so the missile bases were removed. Plus the realization of all the EMP side effects. Pretty sure South Korea bought all the missiles sans warheads, and they are still using them today on the DMZ.

Along with missile defense against bombers, missile defense against ICBMs was also done, and the original BMEWS [Ballistic Missile Early Warning System] was part of that, the Safeguard Program, with radar bases in Alaska, Greenland, and UK.

Christopher - if the Defense of Marriage Act is now going to be nullified or ignored, and that Act defines marriage as a joining between ONE man and ONE woman, then I think you could start shopping for wife #2. They’re throwing the baby out with the bathwater. You could probably select some livestock, a corpse or a tree as wife #2 and drag it through the courts. I’d suggest a pig, so there would be no way your case would have anything islamic about it. You’d win eventually I think. What’s to stop bigamy, bestiality, or just sicko behavior once the gov throws out the definition?

  6. I think you could start shopping for wife #2.

You are joking, right? I can’t handle one wife. Imagine having two of them under the same roof. The old Mormons had to provide individual houses for each wife. Needless to say, only fairly wealthy Mormons could afford more than one wife.

Not a problem. I don’t need another wife. She’s more woman than I can handle. Maybe I’d agree to the ‘Paint Your Wagon’ solution. One woman, two men. If I remember, she was sold by her Mormon husband.
