It will take a constitutional amendment to change this, and it won’t happen. I wouldn’t chenge it even for Arnold.
Mr Minority
Same here, I like Arnold, but this will never happen.
What you are failing to grasp is the concept called “precedent.”
Now some bottom feeding scum sucking lawyer will look at this as a reflection of the will of the people and use it to apply pressure on legislatures all over the US. In our lifetime it will happen. Mark my word, this is the beginning of another slippery slope.
Don’t think so Vilmar. A new poll out shows Arnold has something like a e approval of Californicators, but very few support this proposal. Asked if the ammendment WAS passed, would they support Arnold, the answer was a overwhelming NO. If the most liberal state in the Union doesn’t like the idea, I doubt we need to worry about it.
From Fox News:
“Schwarzenegger Run?
Speaking of polls, a new one in California shows Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is wildly popular, with a 65 percent approval rating. However, Californians apparently aren’t so wild about Schwarzenegger running for a higher office.
The poll, conducted by Field Research, shows the vast majority of Californians — Democrats and Republicans alike — oppose a constitutional amendment to let foreign-born Americans run for president.
What’s more, the majority of Californians say that if such an amendment were to pass, they’d oppose Schwarzenegger taking advantage of it.
