Sounds like St. Clair County Illnois also. The political graft and outright fraud in E St Louis and St. Clair County are legendary. IF they need the votes in the elction they somehow get them in the E St. Louis area. I saw it first hand as a poll watcher. Every one got something for voting, but I couldn’t see what was going on because they went into a tinted windowed car. But after almost everyone voted they went into this guys car. It is just Illinois politics. It hasn’t changed since the time of John Coughlin and Al Capon.
East St. Louis? Yuck! For anyone reading this out there, if you drive across the bridge from St. Louis, MO to East St. Louis, IL it is like leaving London or Paris and entering Beirut - right after the war. I refuse to go over there unarmed.
Well, I live in Belle Vegas (Belleville,IL). SO I don;t live directly in the war zone. We are growing like crazy over here. Scott SFB personnel and many St Louisians are moving to the East side, because it is cheaper for housing. There is many nice places across the river, Columbia, Waterloo, Shilo, are growing like crazy, so is Millstadt where my brother lives. But yes right across the river is a war zone. And E St. Louis is probably the most corrupt city in the country. They just arrested someone in the city hall for having a prostitution ring out of the city hall. And some even got arrested for voting more than once in different precincts. But there is so much that it is impossible to get all of them.

IL appears to get what it deserves. Too bad it’s spreading around the country like a disease - people, the solution is not to be so pissed off or demoralized to not vote. It is time to research - locally and nationally and pick the most conservative, American oriented and Constitutionally bound people. Then turn the tide of this graft, greed, and politics as usual that is destroying America from within.
Remember - WE THE PEOPLE. I guess I need to start sending it to the usual suspects in Congress that are losing sight of exactly who should be in ‘control’ of America.
I agree with wardmama4, but it is hard that every time someone runs that is not the leberal gets defeated because of stuffed ballots. In Chicago, St. Louis, and most other major cities, the political macines are almost impossible to break. By the way,I have always voted and will always vote for the best conservative candidate.
Too true, Stix. As I’ve stated here before the city of St. Louis is an island of bright blue in a sea of red. Driving in from out here in West St. Louis County you can actually see the transition in the bumper stickers (Vote for Kerry), road signs (streets sponsored by CAIR) and other such Leftist crap.
Out here where I live in Manchester, American flags fly on porches and Bush/Cheney stickers adorn all of our pickups. The city of St. Louis is controlled by a Leftist, Democrat machine that is just as “efficient” at getting itself re-elected as any in Chicago. I’ve talked to poll workers in downtown and they tell the same stories that Stix tells about East St. Louis - transporting homeless people around in vans, voter rolls never being purged, etc.
Sounds like...Memphis. The now-famous Ford Family, the scion of whom we right-minded Tennesseans defeated for US Senate (Harold Ford Jr) is just the latest of a long line of Memphis Fords who have a well-oiled political machine in place.
Back in May ‘05, John Ford (Harold’s uncle, and state Senator) was taken into custody at the capitol building in Nahville (along with 6 other upright Tennesseans) by the feds and TBI, for bribe-accepting and corruption (the Tennessee Waltz scandal). John put his sister in his old seat, who was then removed for election fraud (the dead were voting, again). She was tossed out, but may be coming back.
After all, the Ford’s family business is funeral direction; they have a lot of ‘pull’ when it comes to the dead…
I know all you say is true - I come from the state whose dishonor is Cleveland. It isn’t called the Mistake on the Lake without a reason - it is home to Sherrod Brown and our all time fav - Dennis Kucinich. Enough said.
It is the only place in OH that screamed rampant voter fraud (Diebold machines) and hopeless, helpless voters ‘denied’ their rights. When the fact that Republican majority Hamilton Cnty also suffered from Diebold machines that failed - yes the lines backed a bit but no one was required to stand in line for days on end, no one was ‘denied’ their rights and oh by the way, it was in the downtown Cincy area where the only real voter fraud issues came up - stuffing ballots and voting in all the polling places on the ‘vote early, vote often’ bus tour. . .
I just want to believe in Hope - that if all conservatives keep blogging, keep pointing out the lies and distortions of the left, things will turn around in America.
in Faith - that if we stay true to our core American beliefs - we can keep America strong and functioning.
And the Conviction that just because the left is pandering to a crazed socialist dominated extremist wing, the Republican party does not have to follow and wander closer and closer to the leftist agenda, dragging America down with them.
The Left continues to harken OIF to Vietnam in comparisons (as they try to desperately produce failure and humiliation for the Armed Forces and America) well here is one difference that they seem to have quietly ignored.
The msm and alphabet networks are no longer the sole disseminators of ‘news’ and information. The InterNet is making more and more people aware of how distorted, twisted and just outright lying politicians in America are becoming. With OIF - it isn’t working. With the political landscape - I hope that it will make a positive (not progressive)difference.
