1. I will not be the smallest bit surprised when it turns out that your electrical problem is caused by the building next door.

   On the other hand, it could be that some of those endangered red squirrels have been chewing on your wires. Squirrels are the Devil’s own. Evil tree rats bent on destroying the human race.

   Thanks for keeping us updated on the situation. I’ve got a tragically humorous picture in my mind of you and J kitted up in full hazmat gear with giant rubber booties and gloves using insulated tongs and robotics to fill the teakettle, while small bolts of lightning discharge randomly throughout your house.

2. Thank you for my first laugh of the day Drew.. and the second. Yes, limb Rats will bring down the end of civilization as we see it, and picturing Peiper and the wife in bunny suits filling a tea kettle gives me Monty Pythonesque flashbacks…

   I also afree about the water and the neighbors, especially if you have a common water system.. one misgrounded wire with a short can cover the whole area.. have you asked a neighbor? Something like that can affect the whole neighborhood.

   As to the PC garbage, it’s another case of a loud lib-tard getting their opinion out and stating it as fact. These people are as annoying as a parrot with Tourrette’s syndrome when the rector comes calling. Unfortunately, people take them seriously..

   Another note; she has a child, shouldn’t that disqualify her from advising parents on child rearing?

   Another idiot in the mold of the woman who is anti-pink.

3. no red squirrels in these parts but plenty grey. although we haven’t heard the usual scrapping in the upstairs walls as usual.

   re. common water. it’s been separated as all new builds have separate line and A WATER METER.  So while our line still runs under their property, it is separate but NO meter.

   Govt. gonna change that soon I think. They’re talking meters for our county this coming year.  DRAT!  They think ppl will actually save water and money with meters.
   Not in situations like ours they won’t.  To get hot water from the tank upstairs, you have to run the water for several minutes to get it to the tap in the kitchen.  That’s cos the pipes also make a run thru China before getting to us. Just a theory.

   Well, found someone who might be able to come out today, HAHAHA he said he’d call in an hour to fix times. I’m glad for that except, it’s been an hour and 50 minutes since he said that.

   Oh yeah ....  the folks we have the ins for electric and plumbing stuff sched. TWO plumbers to come out here. It gets a bit confusing.  Originally they thought they were scheduling one plumber to look at the water heater, and another to change a washer in the kitchen.

   Yeah ... I can change a washer. Provided I had any spares handy BUT ... NOT IN THIS HOUSE I won’t. Anyway, one showed up and we didn’t need the other anyway as the job calls for an electrician.

   Bunny Suits?  Now that is funny.

   Meanwhile ... I need to ask BT, our phone company and ISP a question. Since I was on line anyway I went to their site. Can’t believe it. They are the PHONE company darn it.
   And under “Contact Us” there’s hundreds of choices but NO PHONE NUMBERS.
   Very frustrating day so far.
