26 years in jail, he’s served his time so let him out now. How cruel to keep someone on death row for 26 years. Sounds like a third-world country.

26 years for 4 murders and 2 rapes (that were mentioned in the article)???
What an ignorant sack of puddle muck… The state said he dies, he should have met his fate 25 years ago. The law says “you die,” you should be on the stocks the next day. If they are wrong, it’s the price of freedom. Wrongful executions are extremely rare. There are avenues of redress for this if there was any misconduct in the verdict.
The reason I give them a year is for appeals. If you can’t convince a judge in that time to doubt your guilt; “So sad, too bad, don’t forget to write from Hell.”
Beyond a reasonable doubt doesn’t mean the arresting officer forgot to dot an ‘i’ on the report or that the arresting officer had the sniffles when they were arrested, it means that the 10 people who watched a person put a knife in someone’s stomach were probably at least 80 percent composed of sane observers.
The right to a speedy trial should be appended with a clause for the victim’s right for a speedy punishment.
Yes, let him go; and maybe Keith will let him stay with HIS daughter while acclimating to the brave new world…
Well, one cold day a posse captured Billy
And the judge said, “String ‘im up for what he did!”
And the cowboys and their kin
Like the sea came pourin’ in
To watch the hangin’ of Billy the Kid
- Billy Joel
I say, give all such cases immediate judicial review, and overturn the punishment to life imprisonment only if significant process errors were made. If not, then sentence is carried out within 20 days. There is NO appeal past that point.
I am all in favor of the Death Penalty, provided the schmoo is guilty. My problem is that there is increasing evidence that a segment of the Justice System in my country (the U.S.A.) cares a great deal more about collecting scalps than it does about playing by the rules. (I suggest you check out Radley Balko’s blog http://www.theagitator.com, if you don’t know what I’m referring to. Be warned, your blood pressure may spike). I, personally, would like to see Prosecutor immunity severely curtailed. There are people - like this swine - that just plain need to be dead. But if a prosecutor manufactures evidence, hides evidence, or otherwise conspires to convict somebody of a capitol crime he had reason to know that person did not commit, that prosecutor should be tried for conspiracy to commit murder.
Having said that, Mr. Rathbone has a point; if he is guilty (and for God’s sake let’s be as sure as we can), we should have had mercy on him and put him down at least two decades back.
Over and over again - it has been the tenacious family member who sought real justice and got it. Sharon Tate’s sister goes to all the Manson murderers parole hearings and blames them for her Moms death - it was Collette MacDonalds father who sat and read the entire Article 32 hearing and noted the discrepancies in the testimony - these are the unseen, but terribly affected victims of these sub-human criminals.

That’s 26 years with 3 hots and a cot, free legal, free clothes when in court - tv, free exercise equipment - education too if you want it.
What is cruel about that - 90% of the criminals in prison see it as better living than when they were on the outside. And they don’t ever have to work for a dime of it - it’s all on the taxpayers dime.
And Dr Deth - they didn’t bother with the 5th murder after his conviction. How many of those young women would be alive today if he had been stopped after the first one? And what do you want to bet that he had a ‘rap’ sheet - and these murders were just escalation of his criminal behavior?
How many murders does a murderer make - and to these cry me a river freaks - how many is too many.
Did you see the sick NYTs reporter - on the horrific TX gang rape (18 boys and men and still counting) of an 11 year old - who found one person - who blamed the girl and her mother.
As long as there are people like that - who can not find any wrong in a single one of the 18 men who could have simply walked away and CALLED THE COPS - and blame an 11 year old for rape - this kind of barbaric sub-human crap will continue to happen.
Much as it does in muslim countries - there the 11 year old would at least not have to worry about living the rest of her life overcoming this horror - they’d stone her to death.
And keith has the nerve to call us barbaric and 3rd world.
Bite Me - and I hope that some slime in prison offs Carter - it would be justice that Mr Collins and his daughter never got in this life.
Oh my BAD - he’s a victim - he is one quarter Eskimo - he can’t be guilty [please forget the DNA evidence, his palm print at one murder scene, his tape at an ATM emptying one victims account, his driving one victims stolen car to the scene of another murder and then being arrested in that victims car - nothing to see here, move along]
No wonder he is still alive - he belongs to the eternally a victim - victim class.
And I was right - in trouble by age 12, in and out of prison (mostly burglary - but on probation for cocaine when committing one of the murders).
And if anyone had locked him up and thrown away the key - might even one of these young women: Susan Knoll, Jillette Mills, Bonnie Guthrie, and Janette Cullins - still be alive?
When is sanity going to come back to the Police and Justice System?
When is sanity going to come back to the Police and Justice System?
When enuff ppl organize Vigilantes and start cleaning up the streets and correcting the mis deeds made by the current system.
Offenders .... 1 chance to go straight. 2nd arrest hire Singapore prosecutors and executioners if Americans haven’t the stomach, then get rid of the scum. Do not give em the opportunity to improve their criminal know how. Where quilt absolute and proof right there, as in the case of those miserable 10 yr olds who forced sex on two other kids and then tortured them, burning among other things and leaving them for dead .... no trial, no try at rehab, immediate execution using same methods they use on victims. Age doesn’t come into it. Evil can exist anywhere and some really do have a bed seed. The taxpayer should not have to shoulder the burden of keeping scum in comfort (of sorts) for a lifetime.
Prisons overcrowded? Empty them by mass executions.
Bingo. Society wins.
I’m so freeking tired and sick of reading the things I do and the things people are getting away with here and the states.
Oh yeah ... re. executions. It would be necessary to rid ourselves of the aclu and ALL like orgs. first, and track the money ppl who donate to them.
