A riot broke out over plans to convert a building into a Christian church on Sunday

 

1. Wow. Like, can’t we all just get along? </sarc> WTF is it with that group of savages? I want to say something, but this just leaves me unable to do that. It’s beyond comprehension, really.

2. My daughter spent a year at the American University in Cairo. It is against the law to build a church without special permits and licenses and an Act of God. But when you do build one it is against the law to do anything against the property or the congregation. So they build churches in secret. There is a city that handles garbage for Cairo. Both my daughters (one was visiting) took a ride there. Christians chiseled out a church from the inside of a massive chunk of granite, like a small mountain, in the middle of the city. It is unbelieveable - you can sit prolly 5 or 6 hundred people inside this thing. Other than that there is nothing but garbage. Her sister who was visiting started to cry when she saw how people lived there. She couldn’t believe the stench and the living conditions. But there’s a big church in the midst of it.

   I had pictures of the church but by mistake the SD card was left in my pocket when my pants were washed :( It was something.
