  1. I was going to say you were really going at it there in the middle of summer when I remembered that ‘Elf & Safety has banned summer this year in the UK and you aren’t having any.

Crivens, 66 degrees in Littleton? I’d kill for 66 degrees! It’s only low 80s here today, a welcome relief from the the upper 90s we’ve been having.

My mom’s town has these biodegradable yard waste bags. Free from the town, if you drive across the county to their office, if they are open, and if they have any that day. So everybody buys them in the grocery store instead. All yard waste goes in them, or else it’s fine time. And they have to be at the curb no earlier than X hours before pickup day. Or else it’s fine time. And they can’t be too heavy. And they can’t have non-bio stuff in them. Or blah blah blah or the yard nazis will hit you up with another fine.

OTOH, the whole town does look better, and those giant piles of sticks and leaves out by the street are a thing of the past. Nothing to block the street, and the bags don’t look like a fun place to play to children like leaf piles, so no dangers there either.

  2. That would be Winchester with 66 degrees.  We’re a few degrees cooler almost all of the time. But then, that also includes winters.

Gee, by your description, it may be worse there then here re. waste regs and conditions. Although there are places where some of those issues you name are here as well. But so far, not so bad here in our immediate area.  But who knows how long that’ll last.

  3. Bear in mind all thise bullshit rearding waste is fundamentally down to the Eurocrats who have told Britain to cut down on landfill. If they don’t cut the amount of garbage being dumped than Britian gets fined by these shitheads. You wont hear this on the news because the BBC is itself euro funded. Other EU countries igore this crap but Britain always “plays the game” Hopefully the demise of the euro will see the end to the control freak nonsense, but I am not holding my breath.
